1977 was the year of "Star Wars," a movie that nobody thought would be a hit, because why would anybody want to watch a sci-fi blast-em-up film that paid homage to old-school films and serials? But watch, they did... and listen, too.
While John Williams scored the movie and was featured on the official soundtrack, the disco version of "Star Wars/Cantina Band" was a #1 hit on the Billboard charts. There was even an album, featuring a whole 15-minute side of the album completely immersed in "Star Wars" lore.
