Beautiful how all the layers of the board come together! This would have been awesome to have in high school!

+Nicholas Poetker Yeah, skateboards are an under appreciated resource for woodworkers. Not only do they look great, but they're usually hard rock maple--strong stuff. I saw a guy on the internet that makes guitars out of skateboards. They're sick!

+Nicholas Poetker They are, uhh...*ahem*...for sale on my website if you're interested, as well as most of the other stuff i make. Check out the Store @ www.GarysWares.com . The site is still under construction, but it's basically operational and ready for orders! ...I mean, theoretically. No sales as of yet to put the system to a real-world test, but yeah. It's up and it totally exists!

Super cool! Im going to go check it out! Im from SoCal but have been in Japan for a long time now. Do you ship to Japan? Is that tough? If not maybe I could have them shipped to my brothers house? Thank you man!

+Nicholas Poetker In Japan? I bet you're a teacher. I spent 4 years in South Korea working for the DoD and there were plenty of stateside teacher over there. Anyway, I don't currently offer shipping internationally, but I'm working to charge that. But Cali's no problem!

I made my first pipe yesterday in my shop class (today being good friday {4:21 am}) I watched the video over the basics and I did mine a tad bit different. when I did the bowl I have the stem hole going straight in the bowl.. would it still work? I have pictures of it on my insta @/thedoodwitha.mullet
@GarysWares7 жыл бұрын
+Austin Brock Right on, man! Lookin good! And yeah, drilling straight into the bowl is the way it's usually done, but it's a tricky operation. Check out this page: pipedia.org/wiki/Materials_and_Construction . As you can see from the diagram labeled "page 2," there is a very small margin of error between a pipe that works just fine and scrap wood. If the air passage comes in too high, it will leave material below the air passage unsmoked. If it's too low, it won't hit the bowl at all. I made a lot of scrap wood when I started out; like I said, it's a tricky operation. Good luck!

You can most definitely find little Tech Deck trucks to throw on these bad boys if you wanted to take it from a sitter to a shredder 🤙🏼

What about the glue? Does any heat from the smoke activate it? Will you taste it? Is it safe? Just wondering.
