You are so cute! "not Rock Hudson"...we are telling our age now! ;D Great advice and your wife's bushes are beautiful! I have the double pink as well- it's a darling of a bush, really lovely flowers, but makes babies all over the place!! Mine is still small and very dense- tons of stems & limbs. I hope to get a tall tree-like bush out of it? Waiting for all the leaves to drop, so I can see what's what! You recommend pruning in Spring, right? So I will keep watching! Thanks!

My parents had Rose of Sharon's in somewhat of a hedgerow. Those were very nice but extremely prolific. My advice is to keep after them. They will spread all over the place

Nice video I would like a video lesson on how to prune a small dwarf Sargent Tina crabapple tree. These are used in area shopping strip malls along the sidewalks. The maintenance companies simply shear it like a shrub.Since I planted some in my yard , I would like to learn the proper way to keep the interior open but also keep the shape ball like for the formal look. Thanks alot for all the learning and informative videos.

Wow! Fantastic results!!! Did you fertilize? If so, what fertilizer did you use?

Thanks, boss. I inherited several Rose of Sharons that had grown 10-15 feet tall. Last summer, one rotted and tumbled after a rain, so I want to take down the others before their stems rotted out, especially those against the house. Needless to say, my pruning is going to be much more radical than yours, but your vids taught me what to do. (PS. Chose your how-to from the bunch because I'm a Big Ten alum, Ohio State. We Midwesterners need to stick together.)

Hi ! I liked your video of pruning Rose of Sharon😁 I did not know they grow like a tree. I have one. It's not in the grow yet. I'm not sure if it will be That's look like a lot of work and money to have prune. Thank you

The reason you’re so into pruning the rose of Sharon is because the wood cuts like butter. Easy Peary and less apt to end up with sore muscles. Johanna Maine USA
