Fuses reduce the electrical flow from mains to the product, so when a surge happens the fuse blows and stops the flow of electricity to the appliance. A surge without a fuse could cause the appliance to basically overload and cause damage such as fires (thin wires that overload and cannot support the high electricity flow can heat up and set fire to the appliance which can spread)

I'd been in the job much longer than the supervisor at the time. Anyway, one of the machines stopped working. I said to the other guy that I'd check the fuse. I went to the shop next door to buy some fuses. meanwhile the other guy called the supervisor, I'd told him to wait. Anyway, I got the fuse, it previously had a 5A fuse so I replaced it with a 5A. And it started working. The supervisor then appeared. He asked how I got it working, I told him, "I just changed the fuse." He said, "Nice, how do you do that?" eBay love giving money back to buyers. This is one of the rare times the seller is dodgy. Normally it's the buyers winning an item, changing their mind but not telling the seller for a week. Or putting an offer in and then once it's instantly accepted they change their mind. Or trying to claim the item is faulty, get a refund and then return the incorrect item. eBay puts too much emphasis on buyer protection and not nearly enough protection for the sellers. And it doesn't help that alot of people buying on eBay fail to grasp the basics of how the site is meant to work.

I'd never buy anything off eBay ever again. I did a lot around the early years of the site. Only had two bad experiences. One the guy refused to send the item,even though I paid very quickly...I literally had to threaten him by phone to get him to send the item. I was like 16 at the time lol. The second was a DVD that I could only get to work in one player...but the lady didn't speak good English so I gave up. They both left negative reviews,which was ridiculous to me. I actually had more positive feedback as a buyer than most sellers did at the time... something around 150-200. I've seen too many people personally order stuff off eBay and never get it,or get completely scammed. I'd rather pay the premium on Amazon and know I'm at least going to get the item. Just look for the Prime mark or the "fullfilled by Amazon" and you know the item actually exists at the very least lol. The only problem being that you'll never get the kind of deals you see on eBay. That's especially true with games. They can be marked up by an insane amount in some cases. As a sidenote...if you are selling fake products and can convince someone to buy them,I don't feel all that bad...until the fake product is potentially lethal. I have no sympathy for someone that could do that.

eBay is actually earning more from these big traders, crooks or not, than from anyone else. So they'll be the last one to do anything against them. I haven't traded with them for years because of this.

Why destroy the clothing? Give to the poor and charity where clothing is needed who cares if its fakes its not harming any1 unlike the electrical fakes which I agree need to be destroyed. 😑👍🏼

Disgraceful sale of a torch to a partially blind person which did not switch on. How can she in the dark? Could have an accident if the torch did not switch on.

You do but it’s a mechanical switch when under a high load it heats up and changes shape causing it to trip (turn off) back in the day we used to have actually fuses in fuse boards some houses still do just that it’s more of an inconvenience changing a fuse compared to just switching it back on.

If it happens everywhere all the time like wild west, why did it take months of investigating to shut just one down?
@ionutzB1235 жыл бұрын
to be fair only in UK you can find fuses in the plug. Otherwise, if the current was too high it would have tripped the main fuse from the breaker panel, and wont blow up the plug.
@Convolutedtubules4 жыл бұрын
My exploding fuses work just fine, they disconnect the plug from the wall like they were designed to do.

Well the eBay listing did say “no game” so do we not have basic reading comprehension skills?

He didn't say he wanted to buy the game, he would of only wanted the collectables and that's it. My son often wants the collectables to a game he already owns so I've bought just the collectables in the past as well.

What kind of a loser feels good carrying around a fake handbag, watch, clothing, etc knowing they're fake?

If the cops called in the armed forces and opened the shutters with a missile or tank, that owuld show the criminals that they're deadly serious. Then force the criminals to pay back the massive amount of money that operation cost. Depending on the munitions, it could be _billions_ of pounds sterling!

Robert Thibeault everyone who shops there knows it’s fake it’s just ridiculously cheap and tbh a lot of it is decent quality. People are tired of being ripped of for a shitty logo.99% of cheetam hill’s customers don’t give a shit if it’s fake because you can get a decent quality ‘fake’ Canada goose jacket that is 80% of a legit one for£25-£35;
