1/48 Blackhawk - lovely! Will probably do a RescueHawk or SeaHawk version when they come out.

Nice but I really wish the canopy went back further to another panel line. It would make clean up so much easier. Will probably wait for the HH version as always wanted to model a 'Pedro' after watching the series on the Discovery Channel

Great review Gary, it’s a lovely looking kit. The main instrument panel looks quite symmetrical, could it be glued on the “wrong way around”, giving you a flatter surface for the decal? Just an observation, it’s probably not possible. I sooo hope they do this in 1/35 scale. Keep up the great work 👍

Not really a helicopter guy but this does look nice, kind of tempted! I live one of the coast guard red and white ones! They look great!

Thanks Gary. Thanks for the vid. Those seats do look a bit awkward, like lining up biplane struts. It has the flight controls of Hotblack Desiato's Sun Diver. "Every time you try to operate one of these weird black controls that are labelled in black on a black background , a little black light lights up black to let you know you've done it". Looks like an interesting build. Cheers Matt🦘

I think l will get this kit because of the level of detail and l don't know if anyone else has done one of these but with what ICM is releasing this year other manufacturers will have to be on their A-game as you said the moulding is another level l think it could be interesting year ahead 👍

Excellent video Gary. I'll probably get a USAF version.

ICM do seem to have a good PR through there KZbinrs, but this might be my first ICM kit for sure. Makes a nice change in subject matter.
@garys_stuff18 күн бұрын
ICM don't have their own KZbinrs, if you mean people like me then we tell it how it is. Recent ICM kits have been very good indeed, the older things (yes, I'm looking at you 1:48 Bf-109) are not. If you see a lot of good reviews on YT then it's because ICM make good things.

I Hit a nerve there i think! It was more a sarcastic comment than saying that ICM has there own KZbinrs,so calm down. But if you look at youtubers at the moment ,they all seem to get the models at the same time.

@@martinB68 I'm just wary of being thought of as not having my own opinion! What happens with a bunch of us is that ICM email to say what the releases are to be next month and what would we like to review. We ask them for what we feel is right for our channels, and they send them. They monitor what we publish, but never try to tell us what to say. Funny thing about them, not only is it a pretty good company producing some very high level kits in the middle of a war, but the people I deal with at least are genuinely nice! Very businesslike, very professional, but genuine too.

Hi Gary.. great review. Just a thought to slightly differentiate the panels. Perhaps do the model with a matt varnish, mask a few panels, then varnish in satin, or vice versa :) They'd all be black but the varnishes should make them look subtly different. I'm by no means an expert on helicopters, but AFAIK the collective is the handbrake looking job on the left side and controls lift with a twist grip for power (humans not having three hands - design cockup if you ask me *LOL* - we can't let go to use a normal throttle) , and what in a fixed wing aircraft is a joystick is called the cyclic in a helicopter. I /think/ the collective is on the frame at 04:48 - the leftmost of the two parts on the bottom of the third frame - if that makes sense! :)

Think you've nailed it mate - never got the hang of whirlybirds although i used to love riding in them. Wessex was my fave.

Looks nice, but with the odd things you pointed out i would like to see it built first before i buy it. Thank you for the review

Wow…Just wow.!..I wonder if ICM might make one in 1/35.?
@garys_stuff18 күн бұрын
Not out of the question, I'm sure, given that they make (and consistently sell) the monster CH-54A in 1/35th!

I think that the control decals will be going in the bin, like Airfix… just black and white and very clumsy looking… best to wait until Quinta have done a set

They are pretty rubbish - I've never liked how decals sit on instrument panels that have any kind of relief. Might dry brush mine and dot in some detail.
