Gives me chills 🇺🇲 My step Grandfather was a WWII bomber pilot. He's gone now, but, he was the only Grandpa I had ever known. I treasure the memory of the 15 years I had known him. He was a very humble man, but, you could see the pride in his eyes, even though he did not talk about his service, which was lengthy, honorable, and distinguished. You just Knew he Loved his Country. God BLESS ALL Our Veterans. And God BLESS The USA 🇺🇲 Thank You For Your Service and Sacrifice 💜

Thats awesome, I was in the 101st in the 90's and the base always welcomed veterans of former wars onto base to talk to us young soldiers and we always ate that stuff up. I was there when a group of the easy company (Band of Brothers) guys came during filming of the series, which was going on in England, but they came to talk to us and tell us about this new series and that we were gonna love it. And we did!

Gary Sinise is a nice man.
@pencils19515 жыл бұрын
Sinise is a man apart, he does what he does out of respect, concern, and support, and certainly not for self-aggrandisement. The UK does not have a Gary Sinise, or a VA, what little we did have was lumped into the National health increasing their burden, so much for politicians. I have the greatest admiration for Gary Sinise for the path he has chosen to tread. He is self-effacing, humble, and a heart of gold. America, you should be proud to count this man as a fellow American, there may be a time when he might need your support, and if so, give it willingly. From a UK vet.
@pencils19515 жыл бұрын
If I said something wrong I apologise. I don't want to step on any toes. He's a wonderful man, a man deserving of recognition. I joined the army in 1967 and finished in 1979, but we did not have a Gary Sinise, but during the war we had Dame Vera Lynne, the services sweetheart. We don't have the power and might of America, but those of us who are left are proud of whom we were.

I revere those of great stature, people with a heart of gold willing to give their time and effort for those in need. Gary Sinise is such a man. Lt. Dan has done so much for vets, he is an inspiration and although he is much admired, how many of us try to follow in his footsteps. I did my time in the army and I donate when I can, but Gary has taken the bull by the horns and wrestled the beast into submission. The results speak for themselves. His foundation is something the US government should have done for those who fought for their country, but as in my country, Rudyard Kipling said it best in his poem Tommy.

Awesome Gary Sinise. As the oldest grandson of the Royal Dutch Indo Army, he was a POW of Japan, ding forced labour building the notorious Birma railway. He died in 1981, thee days after my 11th birthday. Hard to imagine what they endured in man's hell, called war. All my respect and admiration to you all. I am married with a lovely sweetheart woman from the middle east and she know freedom is not something one should be granted. Respect....

Gary Sinise.... I cried as I watched this. I just couldn’t stop the warm trickle down my cheeks. My dad served in the Solomon Islands on Guadalcanal and Tulagi 1943-44. He never spoke much about his experience while there. On the rare occasions that he did my brother and I were treated to a number of black and white photos. Army tents under Palm trees. Islanders and soldiers. A story of his falling into a slit trench just before the burst of a Japanese nuisance raiders bomb and the whistle of bomb shrapnel as it passed by overhead where just seconds before he was walking. But again these stories were rare treasures. Gary your heart warming compassion, your hard efforts to bring happiness, recognition, well deserved and in some cases long overdue thanks to those so worthy of that. Thank you and God bless you.

My father, a WW2 Veteran of the war in Europe craves to be among "old timers" who served as he did. I will visit him again this summer and I hope I can convince him to join me next summer on a road (he does not fly) trip to the WW2 Museum. I also served and I hope to make this trip a memorable one!!! Thank you Gary for all that you do! The Mendoza/Vargas Family

Yes, agree. Would love to see Mr. Sinise get a Presidential Medal of Freedom. He is selfless in his work, his love, in everything he does. There is a petition out for him to receive this most prestigious award. He will, just hope it isn't from the current sitting U.S. President. (Um, Bone Spurs = COWARDLY??!!!) That tarnishes the award a GREAT DEAL. Whatever happens, Gary has a good life ahead of him, a good end, too. No worries. Mr. Sinise is like the hand of God himself. Love, love, love, love, love, to the best in all of us, ALWAYS. P.S.: Thank you so much for your service, Paul Stockton. We are major allies. (I'm Canuck born!!!) :o)
