Good lesson Brian! One thing to be aware of when doing combustion analysis is to make sure you are sticking the probe before any kind of draft hood to avoid a false reading.

Thanks for the upload. I'm not a tech. I'm a homeowner and I'm getting my annual furnace inspection this Friday. I want to stay informed and learn about what the technician is doing.

I haven't finished the video. But a combustion analyzer is a really good tool. I use to tune care as a mechanic and my AFR told me everything. Working hvac now, it can show me a cracked heat heat exchanger.

Also undersized gas flex, sounds like an elk bugle. I see it on commercial unit heaters quite often.

Great Gas 101 session. Thank You! It's crazy, here in MD 80% furnaces are pretty rare. Most are 90%+.

Thanks for the valuable lessons that you all provided. Not all of us could afford paying for hvac courses that we need to excell in our trade.

confirm the crack in heat exchanger by engergizing fan R-G then getting bbq lighter and sticking in each hole, see which one dances, thats the culprit

Pressure switch checked by board before inducer starts...I wonder how many times that knowledge gets forgotten.

22:18 Gas furnace sequence of operation
@gsmacka9611 ай бұрын
Im new and had someone did exactly that with the lighter to the gas piping. Im like WTF are you doing! If you looked in the truck we have a gas detector. "Ive done this all the time" bla bla bla boomer talk. No thank you, I learned alot of stuff through the fire academy as well mr I do this all the time. What if a customer saw you doing that? What if you cant control the flame that shoots out because it was that loose? I appreciate the videos so much.

Brian sir. Question for u I am dealing with a heat pump dual fuel split system. Heat pump runs fine on cool mode and dual fuel, my problem is on heat pump mode my pressures sky rocket to 575 on both sides high and low and also gives me an ambient sensor code. How can I address this is this a restriction, on what side evaporation coil of exterior or overcharged?
@roqueherrera847111 ай бұрын
My outdoor temp was 67 and dual fuel switch over/lock out is set to 40. Once it kick out the low ambient fault code remains on defrost board until I reset then cycle starts again. My pressures still rise to 575 on both sides

Is your gas furnace running at the same time as your heat pump? They should never run together
