A friend use to do this before he went into the auto repo business. He worked for himself. He would ask people "Are you a hoarder? Do you have a lot of stuff all over cluttering up the place?" Cause he'd refuse to come out to those places. He stopped doing hvac repair because it seamed like everyone is slobs anymore and live in filth. Now he just hooks cars and transport them to auction yards.

I worked plumbing and hvac for over 25 years and the last 15 years before I retired I worked as a IT specialist. I didn’t matter what profession your in you’ll run across slobs and filthy people. There is a lot of times I didn’t put up with bad behavior or a filthy place.

I'm a Canuck so I don't have your gas code. Ours, 4.14.1 demands appliance is accessible for servicing. Red tag. 4.14.2 demands it be 2 feet. 7.27.4 demands 2 inches from combustibles for underfired water heaters. The shelves have to come out.

Back in 1974 I delivered papers in what they used to call the old millionaires area of Indianapolis. Huge homes that still looked nice but were very old. I had one house on corner that was surrounded by wrought iron fencing and was a huge property. The owner was actually my dads orthopedic surgeon. My dad had his leg crushed in a trucking accident. He had mentioned to my dad about needing help around the house. He said that I who was 14 was always looking to make money. My dad took me over and it was just after Thanksgiving or Christmas. Like several days after. You had to go through mountains of papers and magazines and boxes. Dust everywhere. We get to dining area and there were 2 turkey carcasses and half a huge ham on 2 tables. When we walked in about 2 dozen cats took off running. Did I mention the place smelled like cat piss and rotting corpse? The kitchen was filled with unwashed pots and pans and dishes. Outside was around 12 dogs from tiny to great dane sized. You could barely see out windows they were so filthy. We left and my dad said, Your not working there, lol.

Not Channel Locks they are more expensive then that brand. Knipex. They work as good as a pipe wrench.
