He’s saying that when buying a car you should be smart about it and try to see if it you could possibly save money/time by not going to the gas station all the time. Although it may not be a huge concern to some people who are extremely rich. Having to get gas all the one may be quite annoying. Also rich people are rich for a reason because they are smart with their money so little things like gas do matter in the long term.

You need to be VERY careful about gunning it on the road. A while back a friend of mine was gunning it and hit another car causing a fatality. He was charged with Manslaughter and received a long prison term. Lost his wife and children and job. You have a long future ahead of you and I do not want to see that happen to you.
