Also the rings transfer the heat from the piston to the cylinders. Solid ring seal during the power stroke may lead to better octane sensitivity in summer months.

I've got an S&S Hooligan 1200cc to 1250cc big bore for my 2018 Sportster that I am about to install. I guess what I am wondering is if these are made for these big bores, or just the m8 S&S kits?

I know you said those rings are designed for the S&S pistons specifically but I just want to double check that they won't work with Zipper's pistons (124'')? As always thanks for the content and detailed explanations.

No but the rings Zippers uses with the CP pistons are nice. Do you already have the Zippers kit?

@@MoonshineHarley oh ok cool. Yes I do. 124 zippers muscle kit, darkhorse crank/motorsproket, carrillo rods, feuling cam plate/oil pump/vented dip stick, baker grudge box, etc.

Are the pistons drilled in the top? Or are just the rings grooved? What about zero gap rings? (Old auto racing stuff)

Just gas ported rings. Zero gap isn’t the best performer for street or air cooled engines.
