So I’m a lawyer and have a bunch of lawyers in my family. I also don’t know what the fuck he’s talking about that lawyers have a high failure rate. Like, if they found their own firm and it goes bankrupt? If they burnout from stress? Get fired? Decide to quit to raise a family?? All those things happen, but not to 99.9% of lawyers every year. Most lawyers make OK to great money their whole career… if he’s saying that 99% of people who want to become a lawyer fail to get into law school or fail their exams, then maybe? But I think for most of those people they can still get a real, paying job that uses those skills…

I recently found a quote which might be fitting for these MLM bubbles. "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" (Sir Walter Scott, 1808) Found it very thought-provoking as these MLMers use euphemisms and double speak to lie to others. But ultimately, they are deceiving themselves by justifying their own business practices. Just a random thought to add to the conversation

Marco I’d love you to do a video on the phone/internet monopoly!! I live in upstate NY & for years have talked about how spectrum has monopolized the game, their prices go up as their quality goes down. Their service is glitchy, the extras you PAY extra for rarely work when you need them & when you talk to customer service they treat you like.. well… like you have not other option & we need them more than they care about us. The second we get greenlight or any other reliable network I will switch that day!! Unfortunately, I have been saying that for years&years.

I come from the Eastern EU and when I heard the prices people pay in US for internet I was shocked. And the speed and quality of service is much more trash than here. I could not believe it. Someone explained to me that it's due to overregulation that created monopolies. It's crazy - where's the "land of freedom" in that? Also the housing market is so awful due to overregulation as well. Y'all could have had decent priced houses, but development projects are being stopped so that the supply is kept low and current landlords don't lose "value" from their properties
@thatchick12056 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t say the problem is over regulation. More like the wrong type of people making the rules. And the government just turning a blind eye to the issues at hand, and putting it off.
@JayMaverick6 ай бұрын
The problem is predatory capitalism and lack of consumer protection (re the internet, I mean). It's pretty simple in that regard. Massive lobbying to keep services awful and expensive. As for housing, it gets more complicated.

@dillonforsberg6 ай бұрын
@@waldo4133yup. Capitalism requires constant profit growth and it’ll always find ways to do so even when it hits practical limits. The telecom companies, for instance, need to keep growing profits despite the market becoming saturated. So they buy up their competition, they lower costs to the detriment of quality of service, they raise prices because where else are customers going to go, and they lobby the government to increase immigration to add new customers for them.

I love how when talking about the person who was suidical and didn't want to be pitched a frickin MLM in their darkest hour, she phrases it as "They weren't ready", which is blaming THEM for not wanting to be part of a pyramid scheme (and then also slyly made the comment of people liking to be a victim. Yes, there are some like that, but this person absolutely wasn't doing that). I agree with the assessment that no way did she actually become a licensed social worker and if so, she's not one of the good ones. We have seen a rise of doctors and nurses who also shill MLM's and then will incorporate their MLM into their patient "care" without the patient knowing they're being duped into purchasing with an MLM. A community had to take action against a doctor who was shilling Amari, a "mental health" MLM, on his patients. Sadly, he didn't lose his license, he just had to remove the videos where he talked about the company in conjunction of recommending it to his patients. Hopefully his damaged reputation will cause him to leave that clinic (or if its his own clinic, it's shut down).

Still watching, but for those voice clips, it honestly sounds like the guy is SO close to realizing he's in a pyramid scheme and is afraid of being confronted with that fact. It makes zero logical sense to be afraid to debate someone who is being sued by those who are pro-MLM if he himself is also pro-MLM. He's not the one that needs to worry about anything! But the back-pedling sounds like someone who realizes they wouldn't be able to win the argument (especially if they're the ones who challenged you to a debate in the first place). I hope the guy manages to get out, but if he's at the top of the compensation plan, that's not likely to happen. I still hope he grows a conscious though.

So in a nutshell, you won the debate before even having the debate ✅ YOU’RE in hot water cuz of lawsuits?!? Ummm, no! You’re being frivolously sued as a means of silencing you BY an MLM & just knowing that I’d be horrified, not to mention nervous, that’s the industry I’m in. I’d think wow, I’m on their side now… is this what happens on the other side? Also, the second he blamed ‘compliance’ I’m like as the CEO? 🤔 You won 🏆🥇 case closed. Their ‘arguments’ ONLY work when you’re brainwashed, are only getting mere slivers of truth & won’t even hear of the other side.

Hey Marco! I'm not sure where to tell you this, so i thought I'd leave a youtube comment, but I have half my family in Amway and became entirely isolated from them. I have been in massive fights or totally avoided all together. I caught your channel more than a year ago, and you have basically become my life support. Unfortunately, there is a massive point that I never heard the solution for used by my family to justify their action. I know this might be too much to ask, but is their a way we could talk over the phone/discord? I need some advice, and you are the most well equipped person on the subject. Thank you.
@ericnelson91006 ай бұрын
Have you consulted a mental health professional? You say half your family; is it possible with the family members not in Amway, can you stage an intervention, showing them how much they've spent versus how much they've earned? Plus, you can ask them what they actually learn from all those seminars and books they're made to attend/read; goal would be try to make them see all these seminars are the same and there's no specific training actually given. For what it's worth, you have my sympathy; there's no one size fits all approach and more than likely they'll have to come to the realization on their own. Unfortuantely facts are like what kryptonite is to Superman.
@forestlimes48016 ай бұрын
@ericnelson9100 I appreciate the response, which was really good. Unfortunately, I wanted to talk with Marco about the circumstances I'm in and how i need to explain its importance. Amway is pretty popular to those in the south because of its similarities to religious cultism. Because of this, my sister, who is currently in Amway for 3 years now, doesn't care about the money/income. She views it as a personal missionary for God. No amount of reason can get through to her because Amway has taken my faith and abused it. So much so that my sister's upline had a breakdown and yelled at everyone in his group chat about how he was abusing the Christian gospel as a tool to further cement their trust in the "plan". MLM is becoming aggressively reliant on the trust people place in a higher power to manipulate their vulnerabilities, and people like me who still hold faith in God feel obligated to warn others.
