My uncle owned a car dealership in the 70's. I used to accompany him on his wholesale buys for the used car inventory line. He had a few sayings when dealing with sharks like these two "buyers" (not sellers). One was "I'm here to buy inventory not a story". He always had a bottom line price before he went on a buy mission and never moved from his number. I remember one time we walked away from a four car wholesale deal, by the time we got back to his store, the dealer we just came from was calling to tell him he accepts the offer he walked away from. Uncle Jim told him " my time is money, take $1000 off what I left there with and we'll put it on Ice". An hour later two flatbeds rolled through the back gate with the four cars, each with $250 more to work with. I know my uncle would have walked from this "only driven 1/4 mile to church rust bucket.

While I find your barn find/garage find rescues and realize that you can’t build every old muscle car or truck that you rescue-I for one miss seeing you take one of these vehicles and restore or restomod it with the GM touch. Even videos of custom builds you do for customers on their rides that they bring to you would scratch that itch. I realize that GMG has evolved and expanded its subject matter..but I plead with you.. don’t totally abandon the “bread and butter” that put you on the hot rod/car enthusiast map. It could have driven 50 miles, if it wasn't vacuumed, washed and stored correctly then 50 miles may as well be 50000 miles.

I like the video Richard Rawlings. Just beware of shady car salesmen. I did not like that car salesman he did not even get you the right beer.
@chislands Жыл бұрын
What was with the swindler salesman going for a sack adjustment every 15 seconds? Also, I've never seen Richard so unsure of something. If you took a drink for every time he asked Kenny "what do you think", you wouldn't be able to stand.

Lol I saw that too

I thought Richard would pass on this one. He said the highest price paid recently, for a comparable car 32k. It sure sounded like he paid over 30, now he's got a laundry list of between 3 to 5 k. Maybe he knows a guy that collects Chevy's. An auction would be very risky though. 🍺 Good luck 🍻

I’ve never seen anyone nitpick a car with 150 miles on it…nice sales tactic. Richard said he was looking for something that could prove the mileage, but was looking in the trunk 😂
@rubblerouser2644 Жыл бұрын
I would look in the trunk too. And everywhere else. I ask more questions about and look harder at low mileage vehicles than higher mileage vehicles. With low mileage, I'd be looking for signs of wear, parts that don't match, colours that don't match. I'd look at the spare, the jack and anything else - are they there, have they been used, are they the right ones? If I see something that doesn't match the story, I'd be asking questions, or just walking away (which is what I think Richard should have done with this one).
