I compiled a database of buyers and brokers. Some in CA, the rest scattered around the USA. When my grandfather died grandmother went through his desk and found a deed to a property so her and my mother went to check it out and on the property was a lone garage that they couldn't get in to grandfather had it locked up good so I got a call to meet them there to bring prybars and a sledgehammer so I went and tried for 2 days before I finally figured out a way in and couldn't believe what was inside it was really dark because all the windows were covered with plywood and the doors were screwed shut but I could barely make out the shape of 2 cars stashed in a corner walked a little closer and seen that they were old really old finally i managed to get 1 of the big doors opened up and got a little light in there and seen a model a and a model t I couldn't believe what I was looking at then I called my brother and had him come to help me move them and try to get them outside when we started to move the a we noticed that it was covered in bullet holes and I remember telling grandmother about the bullet holes and she just laughed and started to tell us a crazy story about my grandfather having ties to Chicago mobsters he was a engineer for the railroad and when mobsters had some heat from the police that they would take trains out to Toledo Ohio (that's where we live) and instead of taking passenger trains they would ride on coal trains in the engine car with the engineer and I guess grandfather had helped more than 1 mobster in his time and grandmother thought that the cars were from 1 of them and probably paid grandfather to get rid of them but him being a gearhead couldn't bring himself to destroy the cars so instead he just made them disappear and told nobody about it until we found them we had a cousin who was a police officer so we found a license plate for the model a and my cousin said that it was registered to pretty boy Floyd who after doing some research on him found out that he used to come to Toledo a lot in fact had a girlfriend here and actually was killed here by police i was floored by this she actually sold the cars and because of the mobster connection she got a lot of money for both cars never found out who the other car belonged to i guess they never had it registered ever grandmother said that grandfather used to run moonshine to Canada when the lake would freeze they would drive over the ice crazy apparently grandfather was a bad ass and noone ever knew miss you grandpa think about you a lot RIP you badass

That's just going to slow you down. Sometimes it's better to leave scraps, so to speak, so you can keep your eyes on the prize. I saw a collection of mustang parts once, in a building that had to go in under a week. There was at least a good ten days worth of labor for a crew of 20. The prices flying from this event had people all over the mid west in california snapping up parts and that's actually how they got the job done, which had huge bank money on it. Eyes on the prize, contract on the line and future work possibly.

Generally with this stuff you have three choices. 1. Take what you know you can move/want with your connections; then try to sell the rest to someone for near $15k. (Fast) 2. Take the rest and quickly stick it on pallets loosely by type, pallet wrap it, then just organize selling 100% in full lots only. (Slower) 3. Take the time to properly assess as much as you can in the appropriate markets (Crazy Slow)

I've sold a ton of stuff in my life and I've discovered that the value of things isn't necessarily the selling price. Recently, a warehouse landlord in the area was stuck with acres and acres of high end stuff when Brooks Brothers stores went bankrupt and abandoned their warehouse. He had a full time sale for 4 months. I bought stuff for 5% of its real value, and the last I heard everything was free. In another instance, a guy I knew bought a building that was the factory for a motorcycle accessory maker. Again, loaded with hundreds of bike frames, handlebars, seats, etc, etc and the machinery to make them. Almost all was sold for scrap when he couldn't find buyers in the 6 months he had sales. I think this guy will more than get his money back, but it won't be quickly.

I love when you show different things. Shows your willing to help out and profit. Many years back I was a trucker. Hauled some crates fro Toronto to some where in PA. To a dead end warehouse. I was surprised at what was in there. Military Jeep’s and things I couldn’t see because it was covered. The few guys that worked there said this stuff will never leave

And now its abandoned and falling apart with all the stuff inside it rotted and rusted due to misers, i bet.

@@jastark22181 not necessarily all junk there probably is like 80k in there but it would not be worth sorting all that stuff it would take ages best to take the big bulk and make a quick buck

The show 'Auction Kings' that buy storage lockers would have went NUTS over this place! That would've been an easy flip.

this looks like my grandma's spare room just piles of junk blocking the door
Start by getting a Dumpster and go through the whole place, in this sort of situation it's the only way. You never know that box of baseball cards could just slip away or some other valuable items. Cool video
