Getting the new slicks fitted into the 48 project. With some cutting and grinding I fit 29x10.5-15 Hoosiers onto the 48 Plymouth project thanks to radiused wheelwells

Easiest way is the old string and marker method , just allow about an inch and a half of extra all the way around to account for passengers and body roll and suspension movement . The last thing you want to hear is " scrape " followed by hissing air .

Very good wheel-well adjustment . I really like the way the coupe launches . Good and level and runs like a bat out of hell . Nice video .

I wish I could take credit for it but launching is mainly thanks to Deaver Springs in Santa Ana, CA. They rebuilt and re-arched the original 48 Plymouth springs about 20 years ago

I cut mine out on my 55 Chevy and did the rear wheel wells the same pattern as the 55 Nomad and then rolled 1/2 inch thin wall conduit and welded it on the outside of the fender and filled and blended it. The final job turned out excellent and it looked just like a Nomad.

Thats awesome! I'll be doing the same eventually but on the inside of the wheelwell since I don't have a body line around the front fender to match. Ill likely be cutting a little bit more out as well. When it weight transfers, it rubs a bit on launch

I'm new to building. Am currently building a gasser 454 /w 8-71. Wanted to get an idea how to cut the fenders. Breaking out the grinder is gonna be scarry for me, lots of anxiety! 1st complete hot rod build for me. The wiring is going to send me to the morg

Sweet! What is it? One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was from a fabricator at the first shop I ever worked at...if you screw it up, its fixable, its only metal. That stuck with me and I've had a few times I've second thought cutting something up, but every time I just start cutting and tell myself now I have to finish it. The hardest one was cutting the back of my 54 off to graft 56 tails...once the car had a huge hole in it, I had to finish. For some odd reason I don't mind wiring, it's kind of fun

I took a good while thinking about cutting the quarters on my 55 Chevy. The quarters were Cherry but that's not what I wanted. I also took a deep breath before I cut with the death wheel. 💀 😂

I mean it really comes down to...will it fit? Check overall diameter of the tire you're wanting to run and measure against the car at ride height. If its too tall, run a shorter tire. If a shorter tire kills the vibe you're looking for...CUT IT UP! haha Also...make sure you have some extra room for suspension travel, dont want to hard launch and dig the fenders into the tires, I did that on my first cut test drive

I think it would be easier to just use a string and a marker. Hold the string at the center of the wheel and just go around making a perfect circle.

Not yet. Work has been keeping me from my cars and I'm just trying to get caught up on my customers projects. As it turns out you can have too many so I will be thinning the herd and freeing up money and space to get back on this one. I picked up two different engines to choose from, and both needing rebuilds...currently has a 430 Buick in it. With drag strips closing down, I really just have some thinking to do on how far I want to take a car that wont get much strip time. This car will continue, just need to pick a direction and stick to it. Expect it to pop back up around June/July

Personally I want to use the jigsaw or saber saw to cut them rather than a cut off wheel but that’s just me.🇺🇸

Just got the Redcat 64 a couple months ago. I just repainted it and am about to start adding gold accents to the chrome here and there. It is my favorite RC, don't even need to drive it to enjoy it. I want to get the Monte Carlo next for its wheelbase, then drift, then drag

Thanks, the Challenger was mine, sold it to my dad. My moms had that Cuda for a quite some time, I redid it for her about 3 years ago. I checked with my barber and he said you're never too old to be a psycho, but he may be a little biased cuz hes also the bass player in my psychobilly band. Thanks for looking out though
