I love drag racing, and have noodled in my share of classes and brackets. But my preferences boiled down to ONE THING: Gassers. Old school, nostalgia, all that stuff. My fave Gassers? 47-50 Plymouths and 41 Willys Coupes. Straight axles and Moon tanks, man!

I love gassers, classic drag racing nostalgic history. I own a beautiful hugger orange,64 econoline truck. It's a mid engine altered wheel base wheelie stander. Some dumbass put a huge sunroof in it. I'm thinking a soft top from vw bus to fix the hole? Great content.

Been my beef with the series for awhile now. I'm pretty sure they used to show e.t.s when they started however many years ago. But they stopped doing that a few years back. I'm guessing it might be because the cars aren't tech'd to run the numbers they're running. And/or the "N/T grudge race" mentality has crept in. 🙄

Cool stuff. I thought the rules stated that they needed to yank the front wheels at the hit. Did this change after Quain sold the Association last year?
@HotRodHoarder4 ай бұрын
I believe there are still rules about pulling the wheels. It's a bit of a subjective thing though, because several of the guys were struggling with traction during qualifying. So, track conditions, car issues and things like that play into it.

No disrespect, but is it a drag strip requirement for the lane ladies to wear "come fvck me " boots? Just curious.
The racers get time slips but they are not displayed on the boards. A throwback to the way things were in the 60s.
@rockyesterline79424 ай бұрын
No times what the f. I would never even start my motor if I didn't have a ET At the end!!!! Not watching this!
@HotRodHoarder4 ай бұрын
The drivers get time slips just like normal, but the times are not displayed to the fans. Why, you ask? Because in 1967 (the time period the series is based off of) times were not displayed. It also adds a bit of mystique for the spectators, as you can't tell that one A/Gas car ran a 5.29 and another ran a 5.68. So even if two cars get down to the finals, spectators don't have a pre-conceived notion as to who will win based on the day's E.T.'s. It keeps people in the stands longer.
