I just fell in love with the edition from Yves and didn't even know the other one exists so thank you so much for the comparison! Both cool!

I so enjoyed seeing these 2 Gassman Tarots side by side! I love side by side videos! Thank you for making it, Sarah! I only have the Gassman from Yves Reynaud and I adore it.

Hi Mascha, thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I find side-by-side videos so informative so I'm glad others feel the same way. I plan to make more of them.

Thanks so much for this walkthrough. I have been waiting for someone to put these side by side. I have the Gassmann from Yves, but have been on the fence about Valenza’s. I love the plumb colors!

I'm so glad that you liked the video! I was actually thinking of selling the Deviant Moon version. It has its charms but I have too many Marseilles decks and it's not top of my list of faves. If you are interested let's chat waterchildtarot at gmail

hi there, can I ask you something about the "Gassmann" tarot which you have shown in your video: could you please be so kind and tell me about the cardstock of the "tarot heritage" version on the left? is it sturdy or rather flimsy = printed cardboard or actual cardstock? can the cards be riffle shuffled without a problem? can the cards be spread out on the table without any problem? thank you very much :)
@WaterChildTarot3 жыл бұрын
Hi there - I think I mentioned some aspects in the video but cardstock is so subjective. Yves Reynaud chooses good card stock for his historic decks but they aren't like modern playing cards. They are thicker and a bit stiffer, but they are still slippery enough to shuffle. Definitely not flimsy, but probably not with a core either. Hope that helps?

I have seen a version of this 1840 deck for sale by Vieux Monde that looks good overall, except for one glaring difference... The historical deck they chose looks like it had been rather inexpertly censored by someone opposed to the nudity, such as it is, found in many of the trump cards. It looks to me like someone with prudish sensibilities painted large black cloaks on any figure that showed too much skin. What a shame that Vieux Monde chose such a deck for their reproduction!

Thats' wild! I hadn't heard of the Vieux Monde production but agree it's a same they've disfigured the art.
