I had forgot about cutting the grip off, as a kid money was tight so if you damage your handle bars. You had to safe the grips ( it was a job to get the grip off the old handle bars) I was just happy to have the motorcycle. All the mod look great!

I hear you. To be honest I did try pull them off and they didn’t move... so the exacto was the much easier choice!

Why do you need the handle guards? You aren't going to be doing motoX are you? Also, I always new you like nuts and bolts your mouth. Haha. Hilarious. Nice save with the caption.

handlebar guards are great for a couple things. Firstly, this bike will be for trails and all off roading, which means I could drop the bike, if that happens these make sure I don't break the clutch or brake lever. Next, if you are driving thru heavy brush and close to trees and bushes it makes sure a branch doesn't push your brake or clutch. Next, there is some wind protection with them for winter riding to keep your hand warmer. Hope that helps!
