You are honest because you mentioned the disadvantages which are very very important specially the dust and tire dirts collection underneath ,I think it’s difficult to clean even with air blowing specially in Canada

I agree and love my Swisstrax! The benefits definitely outweigh any negatives regarding this flooring. Regarding turning your wheel, I just make sure I am moving at least a little bit and I've never had a problem so maybe that can help avoid future issues too.

My Review. The Logo & Graphix Trax are sort of discontinued. They do offer this service, but it is no longer done in house and can be quite expensive. (I wanted my KZbin channel name written across 4-5 tiles) Yes they can be slick. I've had my race ramps slide forward as well. My one complaint that no one usually mentions is that they hurt to lay on or walk around on barefoot. I also use a leaf blower, but have started to remove and clean underneath the tiles more often. I will take the the tiles with me and set them up when I go to a car show. I live in the Chicagoland so I also get a lot of salt stains. These are easily cleaned up at the end of winter by giving the tiles a quick mop. Great Channel.

You would cut holes where the 4 post mounts to the contract. Do not mount thru the flooring

I’ve done epoxy paint before, which eventually wears off and leaving traffic patterns. I like the idea of this flooring and the look. Have not walked on Swisstrax product, but have on other brands. I didn’t like how the other brands felt under my feet. Always a little flex happening underfoot felt weird…

Have you experiences snow and slush in the winter? This may be a complete disaster with SwissTrax- with months of puddling, road debris, etc. Curious to know. Professional epoxy is what I have - 50% more $ but without removing the entire floor seasonally
@GasTachs3 жыл бұрын
I have not experienced it yet but I’m sure I will soon. I also have professional epoxy floor but that is also a mess when snow and slush melts. I think with Swiss Trax the mess will be a spring problem not a every time I drive in the garage like with the epoxy, but I guess we will find out soon enough…

I’m going with tile but I need solid not vented because my application in is a work shop with a concrete floor that is 29 by 39, 1131 sq foot not counting the office and clean room. Overall my shop is 30 x 60 outside dimensions. However, it is a woodworking shop so lots of sawdust. Also lots of equipment on wheels to move around. Likely go with coin style PVC.

I like the look of it. But i dont believe its really practical. As someone who is like the mechanic of the family and friends, i work on cars alot in my garage. I dont think these tiles will make it any easier for me to move my floor jacks, engine hoist, and not sure i would trust my jack stands sitting on top of these tiles while i work under a car with my creeper.

This flooring makes no sense to me. If you're doing real work just have your normal concrete floor and sweep up at the end of the day. Having to remove everything from the shop and remove the swisstrax to clean is a massive waste of time and energy. I was contemplating making a bit of a spot in my shop that has this floor to park a car on and have a lift but i dont think its for me.

"Once a year I have to pull all my SwissTrax out and clean the floor...." Hard pass for that reason alone. You are a big fella.... it must be a painful operation to shoehorn yourself into that Vette?
@GasTachs Жыл бұрын
Haha, you don’t have to clean out the Swisstrax once a year, your call. As for getting into the vet… I let gravity and precision butt aiming do most of the work…. Getting out is a different story, I say a little prayer, pucker the butt and let my thunder thighs do must if the work and hold my breath. Once I make it up and out I feel like a new man!
@joefriday6324 Жыл бұрын
Curious on the Vette...because I am 5' 11 1/2".....and although a skinny young man, am now a bit of an older lardazz, now.....I tried getting into a vette a few years ago and It was painful....haha Does the Swisstrax comform somewhat to garage floors that slope toward a center drain from 3 corners of the room? I am also a little concerned about them being so rigid that they will have 'air space' between the bottom of the tile and the cement floor....causing a disconcerting/ unstable 'foot feel' and clattering noise as you walk over them and the tile makes impact with the floor....can you envision what I am asking? Maybe they will work for me...thanks!

I don't work on cars like this but I love my garage tiles; they're not Swisstrax, they're Plasti-Pro Loc. They make my garage look great, they are way more comfortable to walk on/stand on while working, my floors don't get chipped or damaged when I drop even very heavy tools like impacts or 5 lb sledge. The finished look alone makes them worth it but they're also very functional. I just use my garage vac to vacuum over mine like a normal floor, sucks out the dust when needed. Until you've owned a shop yourself and tried these, it's a bit presumptuous to call the concept stupid. There's advantages and disadvantages to tiles just like any other garage floor covering or leaving it bare.
