This is the "Prequel" so is the past, all what happend before the monsters were sealed into the underground.

This little prequel is such an amazing look into Gaster’s character and also shows his relationship with his father. We get to see how Gaster was before he fell into the core and just how he developed his fighting style. We also get to see that he was a pacifist and truly didn’t want to hurt anyone much to his father’s dismay. We also get to see who Roman was as Gaster’s father. How he was a war hardened war veteran and really believes that killing your enemy is the best way to protect his comrades. We see that Gaster doesn’t share his father’s views and that has drives a wedge between them, and sadly we also see that Gaster does eventually succumb to his fathers after he watches Sans die. As he finally see him standing perfectly still just like Roman was. Because it took him to be emotionally broken for him to finally understand what Roman was trying to tell him. And while he doesn’t share his father’s mindset, he does understand it now.

This is a prequel over a thousand years in the past. This is before the monsters were underground. This was before the humans and monsters were even in war. Season 3 will show what happened to lead up to the war between humans and monsters and also deals with the racism against the traitless (people with no magic) in the society of Meropos (the country this season takes place in)

I love the animation improvements that came with the origin series. The voice acting was a pleasant surprise, and makes this series feel more like an anime. There is also another origins animation in the works. I dont wanna spoil anything, so i’ll let you see it when it comes out, or if youve already seen the streams.

Fun fact: All the skeleton monsters we see are named after fonts. We have comic sans, PAPYRUS, 🕈︎✋︎☠︎☝︎👎︎✋︎☠︎☝︎💧︎(Wingdings), and Times New Roman for the skeleton introduced in this video.

There are 3 other origins left: The black beast: It soesn't have much to do with Season 3. Kanashi Fukitsu: A character that will be in season 3. Kody Fallenfire: A character that will be in season 3. It will probably be very nessesary to watch all of them (except for the black beast). There's gonna be an origin for "hate" and after that season 3 will start (with more origins in between episodes) If I'm correct.

About underverse, here's what you should watch in order i've shown you. Truce: it's the prologue to season 1 -0.0 -0.1 -0.2 -Xtra Scene 1 -0.3 (there're 2 parts to this one) -Xtra Scene 2 -0.4 (end of season 1) -Xtale (xtale is the prequel to underverse and it recommended to be watched after season 1 but before Season 2) XTale has 11 episodes numbered with roman numerals from I-X (except for 0) -Owners: the season 2 prologue -0.5 -0.6 0.7 Part 1 is the next episode.

This is in the past. Season 3 is a prequel that takes place 1000 years before s1 and s2. It is the events leading up to the human monster war, and before the monsters were sealed underground. And before Papyrus and Sans were born, meaning Gaster is at full power.

I like that you see Gaster struggle in this episode. He is not really showing his true self because of his father until he snaps. It is like an invisible chain that is restrict you if you parents are present.

Poetic when you realize we see that chain once again during his fight with Betty, only during that moment is when we finally see him truly snap. Because there is no greater pain a parent can go through then the loss of their child. I think in his own way Roman was trying to get Gaster to understand that. Likely the the reason why Roman is a ruthless and cruel as he is when it comes to fighting his enemies is due to his mindset of not wanting his son to get hurt. Which is likely why he’s so hard on him.

The best way to explain what was going on is that Roman (Gasters dad) was trying to see if Gaster had it in him to take someone's life if need be. Remember that Gaster and probably Roman too have healing magic so no (real I guess) harm would be done. There is 1 more thing Roman said "movement creates openings" and in animosity when he fights betty noire he didn't move from his spot. Meaning that if Roman hadn't done this there is a good chance betty would still be alive

Fun fact : reversing a blaster isn't possible in that order if the owner wants it to shoot he can't stop it mud chrag that's why gasters blaster exploded and some cruelty is required to make it happen
