Hi how did your procedure go? I’m scheduled to have gastric bypass on October 25 at K.C. bariatric in Kansas as well.
@tumbleweed57 Жыл бұрын
I have been approved for the gastric bypass and am in the process of doing my work up. You did a great job on the video and your English is just fine. The information you gave is exactly what my Bariatric center provided. It is Not an easy way out at all. Much work has to be done by the patient before you are ready. I also say a psychologist for an evaluation. It was interesting that she picked up on some of the things she identified. And she was spot on. I do not have a surgery date but am anticipating a date in Late October or early November (2023j. Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey. It is impressive that you are already off some of your drugs only a week postop! That means you are doing the work!

Out of all the pre-op & immediate post op video’s I’ve seen, this one is my fav. I’m having the same procedure next week, Aug 30th after 4.5 years of appointments (public system, long wait list & many appointments before you get approved & eventually get a surgery date). Next week is my third surgery date too as I’ve had flu recently with long recovery. But I really started researching WLS about 15 years ago. I had a lap band over a decade ago & that was removed due to a number of negative side effects including severe reflux & oesophagitis. So my weight just kept creeping up and up & in January I was the heaviest weight of my life & diagnosed w type 2 diabetes at age 53. I’m struggling on the pre-op diet & very nervous about how I’ll be after my surgery because I never anticipated my lap band experience to be so negative. Though my friend’s sister had a similar experience & then had the gastric bypass & everything is great now. I’m hoping to have an experience like yours with this surgery. Uneventful while being the best decision with favourable outcomes. I’m only doing this to improve the quality of my life & to extend my life. I’m guessing similar reasons to you. I have a daughter & 4yr old granddaughter. Thank you for sharing your WLS story with us. 😊

Surgeon says a revision to gastric bypass will fix it. Pretty nervous. Never wanted another operation but I’m sick of the acid reflux and Barrett’s esophagus. So yes. Nervous. Kinda excited. Also. Just curious. Can you have a beer here and there after bypass? Like a year out? Anyways. Thank you for sharing. My surgery is in a week.

How much did you weigh before you have your surgery? I’m just curious because I’m so undecided if I want to get gastric bypass or a gastric sleeve.❤❤
@thistothatlife Жыл бұрын
My highest weight was 356lbs and the day of surgery I weighed 283.7lbs. The decision to have either operation will normally be in the hands of your surgeon, depending on your body's composition and ability to recover. I was 5foot10 when I had my operation and I had a fatty liver that I needed to shrink prior to the operation. I also suffered from type 2 diabetes and gastric bypass got rid of my diabetes. Consult with your local bariatric clinic and they will make sure to have the best option for your particular case. It's a hard journey but for some people it's a life changing journey that's worth every hurdle :) I wish you much success on your health journey. Keep me posted.

@@denisaf1263the journey was uneventful. But my mom passed away 1/2010. That took a toll on me. The I had to down size from my home of 40 ish years into a one bedroom. Very upsetting to me. Now for the time being I’m Homebound. And with that eating a daughter who works across the street and won’t take me to store. I’ve been Homebound since 2018. I’ve put on about 30 pounds. Trust in your Dr and remember that you have the power to fight obesity on your own as well.
