Mam, I'm asking questions behalf of my daughter. She got an internship opportunity for 6 months with stipend 25K per month in Thales and based on performance there will be full time employement with salary 9 lakh/annum. My question to you and need suggestions. She has been trying internships and job in the Digital RTL Design area as she has done projects/publications/strong in digital. This company has more of an analog projects than digital. If they put her in analog, will it be okay to work for 6 months to 1 yr and since she is interested in MS, she can apply for Digital front end for higher studies and later switch from analog to digital.

@@AgroForestry_AvocadoOrchard Hello Sir, switching from analog to digital is not that complicated specially at beginner level….first let her complete the internship to get some real time experience, it also gives her an opportunity to explore different domains after that she can apply for higher studies in whatever domain she wants… there is no problem at all. To continue in digital domain she can keep practising the things side by side if required.

If you are a fresher and don't have any other option then joining above mentioned company for 5 years would not be a bad option, at least for your learning and experience point of view....After that you can switch to the product-based companies. It is recommended to first explore the other available opportunities and then take any decision.

@SwetaChandra it depends upon on u r college... if you are from tier -1 college you can easily get intership... in semi conductor company

For an internship, your fundamental concept should be strong along with some good-level projects. Whatever subjects you are studying for GATE exam (Digital electronics, Analog electronics, MOS devices, Network theory) those are sufficient along with Verilog, STA and Digital IC Design.....prepare all these subjects well and focus on projects.
