Hi sir, In case of horizontally guided roller support, @1:01:21 you are mentioning that there can be a vertical deformation in it (of course, the two horizontal displacements are understandable). But are the rotation and vertical displacement being possible? Because in reality where this is available? Also, even if I can image such type of horizontally guided support, in case of static indeterminacy, we have taken that only axial forces are zero and shear forces will be there, which means it should resist vertical shear force right? and how it can have vertical displacement? Similarly, the rotation also possible only if we can consider taking the same in static indeterminacy, right? Please explain this.

I don't know who is watching this comment or not. But if someone watching this thread, i wrote the above comment just for fun as i am two years dropper for gate didnot even qualify for the exam. This is my 3rd attempt. I have only studied quick revision videos and 5years prev questions for nearly 30 days. Like jan 2 to gate. I am happy to say that i got 46.01 marks in the exam.
