Not everyone can be like you who just goes about with his daily life like its some sort of journey or adventure. This thing, even though just programmed to say these things, say the things that the person needs to hear most. That makes a difference. Compared to being alone and isolated, having something to cling on to, even if it's just a machine makes all the difference for those people. This thing may very well be able to save the lives of thousands of people.
