Just tried these after seeing this vid. After recently trying quite a few silent switches, the TTC silent frozen are in a different league of their own. Compared to the TTC the gaterons feel muddy and sticky on the downstroke, and not as quick to reset on the upstroke. Checked the factory lube job and it was ok, maybe a bit excessive actually. Smoothed out the lube job but still sticky feeling. When I say sticky I'm not referring to over-lube, they just feel very mushy at the bottom and so slow to rebound after pressing. Such an unpleasant typing experience, and I can't even imagine trying to game on them. Can't recommend these AT ALL. Not to even mention that the gaterons barely even qualify as a silent switch. For a switch to be this sticky and mushy feeling, and also not be silent truly is a new era. Just save yourself the time and money and buy TTC silent frozen.

Have you tried the geckos?

@@Andersg85 I have not, been happy with the TTC for awhile and haven't felt the need to mess around. I've used the silent alpaca, ink v2 silent, and bobagum the most before these. You vouching for geckos or curious about them?

@@okjhg415 I was just curious, because I’m looking for a silent switch that doesn’t feel muddy. I currently run with yunzii coffee but I’m not happy with the feeling of them

They're only 39g. Not even 45. TTC, is a pass for me.

@@gamzillioThe WS Silent Linears are worth a shot. I have those and while they're not as quiet on the upstroke, it's much stiffer and has a heavier bottom out.

Thank you so much for this video. I always loved tactile switches and never really liked any silent ones. After your video, I pulled the trigger on these switches and I'm really happy about them. They're very smooth, which was also an issue with the silent tactiles for me: always scratchiness. and their sound is so good, not completely muted but also no the rather loud thock I was used to.

I am SUPER excited about these switches, and will be purchasing a set for a work keyboard I am building for my mother for her upcoming birthday (once payday hits lol).

Oh man. I had just ordered a few sets of the WS and Silent Frozens from you right before you released this. Im SO glad I picked up a sample of these. These are by far the best silent switches I've tried so far. Ordered another 50 to complete my board.

I’ve tried the Akko Fairy, thanks for showing the comparison. Fairy indeed felt a little bit mushy bottom out, but they are the most silent I’ve tested. I did go with the Outemu Honey Peach V2, also super silent, but lighter activation force and a bit less mushy than the Akko. They can click a bit on the up-stroke release if you really smash your keys hard and fast. But I don’t type like that.

Kailh prestige silents and Kailh deep dea silent pro box v2 (linears) are VERY silent while not being mushy, have you had the chance to try them ?

Despite these switches not truly being 'silent', it's quite a subtle, pleasant sound profile.

Is there a tactile equivalent to these from Gateron or any other company?

I’ve been trying a bunch of silent switches lately and these are without a doubt the best feeling. They are very smooth and don’t have the smooth, stuck in mud feeling that traditional silent have. I love them and my only complaint is they are a little light. I may end up spring swapping them.

could y’all do a video of linear switches for tactile fans? my main problem with linears is that i always wind up with accidental key presses just from resting my fingers on the keys, which doesn’t happen with the tactiles i’ve used :^) but would love to find a nice linear one day!

These are considered silent switches? Wow. These sound very loud compared to the TTC Frozen Silent v2 switches. I have yet to find or hear any switches more quiet than those.

I still prefer the silencing mechanism of Haimu switches, where they use no silicome dampening.
