According to a study published in the Journal of Geomorphology, global warming is the cause of the enlargement of the Batagaika crater in Siberia. Also known as the "gate to hell", this crater releases thousands of tonnes of CO2 each year and is expanding at record speed. FRANCE 24's Julia Sieger tells us more.

We are still in an ice age, known as the Quaternary Ice Age, which began around 2.58 million years ago. An ice age is defined as a period in Earth's history when ice sheets and glaciers are present, particularly at the poles. Our civilization has never endured these extremes so suddenly bc we haven't been around long enough. Say goodbye to everything you love dearest. Are you a sociopath or do you not see the data and evidence for our immediate demise. We have 10-20 years left at best.

@@TheDoomWizard There’s tropical vegetation under the ice in Iceland. Have you heard of the dark ages? Do you know why we have to get our wisdom teeth removed? The Sun could wipe us out in a minute if we’re in the wrong spot. Doom ha

You are suprised by our little snowglobe changing over time as hurdle through an abyss while being kept livable by a giant ball of plasma a billion times our size, yet you think we cause it? Ha, derp.

I'm deeply concerned on the carbon emissions from volcano's and the effect on the earth's atmosphere.. is there some way we can make them run by renewables or solar or lithium batterys... I think a good start is to fase out volcano's and introduce carbon credits so we give money to the government so they can run through a credit system reducing carbon until we fase them or even ban them from running...

Permafrost is the "permeable" layer of soil that allows life to grow, which is frozen

Rather it unfrozen, we are still in an ice age, known as the Quaternary Ice Age, which began around 2.58 million years ago. An ice age is defined as a period in Earth's history when ice sheets and glaciers are present, particularly at the poles. Currently, we are in an interglacial period (the Holocene), which is a warmer phase between glacial periods, but large ice sheets still exist in Antarctica and Greenland.
