Had a great day bargain shopping! Got 50lbs of chicken for 28 cents a pound, woohoo! Had a whole chicken cooking in my rice cooker while we were gone, pulled all the meat off for quick meals. Used up a crockpot seasoning packet for beef stew this morning, slowly stocking up my freezer with prepped food. Tomorrow, 10 pounds more chicken, enchiladas and bbq chicken😀

Gosh, we live at ground zero for Storm Sandy and went for a week plus without power and all other services. I cooked for four days and took all of that to my moms who was inland and wouldn’t be in as much trouble. We had plenty of food and she only lost power for a few hours. We stayed there until we could get back home. You have to prepare for these events; from batteries to flashlights to medications to cash to gas for generators. I will never take a storm threat without seriousness after Sandy. That’s for sure! (House was damaged but we were ok)

I love how you prepare ahead for the weekends. I did that when my kids were little and we liked to have the weekends free to come and go as we liked. So guess I was doing Amy way back in the day. In the late 50s and early 60s. Yep a long time ago. All we did was go for rides and hikes in the woods, but it was fun for all of us. Who doesn't like to play in a stream? Even I loved it as an adult Mom. 💙 Maxine barking may see the bear outside, better go check Amy! Have a good day and I hope the hurricane doesn't last long where you are. 🙏

I work full-time outside of the home… And I have a husband and a son with disabilities at home. So many days I never know what I am in store for when I get home...with their physical needs. But I wanted to let you know that your videos are encouraging, uplifting, refreshing, and a good reminder of how the Lord takes care of us in many ways. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your life and your family with everyone but especially for me. I don’t always get to the videos on time… But when I do I always know I will be uplifted more than when I started. Thank you again!💕🌺🌸

My husband is a Trucker and I can make him soup in them and freeze so that he will have hot soup for winter. He goes upstate NY alot and it gets cold there. I so love watching your gather your fragments Friday 😊❤ I forgot to mention that he has a fridge and microwave on the truck. I make all of his meals for him. Good morning Amy and family! I love your Fragment Friday's ( and motivational Mondays) are my 2 fav when it comes to getting my house in order and staying on track... Reading God's words with you on the weekend is more just for me...my own recharge I think. I have to say I loved today how when things didn't quite go as planned you just kept going.... You didn't let the little things become big things... I remember being that momma with 4 kids at home, running a business and trying to run the house hold....how easy the little hiccups could become BIG ones! I wish I had this sort of inspiration as a younger momma ... You do a great job and offer such inspiration to others. Thank you for all you do! Enjoy your blessings and your weekend!! I'm off to make corn chowder for the weekend!

Whenever I have fruit flies in my house I just put out a glass of wine and the fruit flies go in the open glass and don't come out. If you don't have alcohol in your home you can always buy one mini bottle for this purpose. I don't need to make the paper funnel. I just throw away the wine with the flies. It is super easy. works overnight.

Not dumb.. and it is more stinky. The wd 40 is milder :).

May sound funny but many years ago my mother-in-law was having achy pain in her wrists from work and she never liked going to the doctor...she always rubbed a little WD40 on her joints and after a couple days it alleviated the pain enough for her to continue working... When I had knee problems and couldn't afford to miss work I used her idea and IT WORKED , lubricated the joints enough that I worked for 2 more years before I had to have replacement surgery.

@@sharonj7274 I am having knee problem now and using an Amish cream to massage it several times a day. Seems to help some but now and again, really hurts. Trying to avoid a doctor also.

wouldn't your stove still work if the power is out because it's gas?

It would still need electricity. The gas will cook your food but the thermostat and clock etc would be electric
