Holydramon/Magnadramon is natural mega because Tailmon/Gatomon is a beast. Ophanimon came later and she is mega level of Gatomon in Digimon Adventure PSP game. Ophanimon would make perfect choice for mega, if Plotmon evolves into D'arcmon or some other champion level digimon.

Why D'arcmon? Ofanimon and Holydramon are both correct evolutions, ofanimon is the correct evolution of Angewomon since it is the wiki that specifies that this is the definitive evolution of all the female angels digimon and in Holydramon's it is specified that it is the definitive evolution of the sacred beast type , both evolutions are 100% correct only that the Tailmon of hikari in Angewomon's phase seemed to prefer the beast data of Holydramon instead of the sacred powers of ofanimon 🤔🤔

Angewomon is not a clone of Angemon. She's supposed to be a counterpart to him. What doesn't make sense is Angemon is a champion and Angewomon is an ultimate. For her mega I definitely prefer Ophanimon. I didn't know that you didn't watch digimon frontier, so maybe if you watched it you'd appreciate Ophanimon more. The frontier season loses some important aspects of the franchise like the bonding between a tamer and their digimon, but the season is incredible and has some of the best villains in the whole franchise imo. All the villains are memorable even the ones that run for a couple of episodes, but definitely the more threatening ones are the best. Frontiers rivals the Adventure seasons for me, but tamers will always be my favorite.

I agree with you regarding how they could have nerfed Gatomon in 02. I feel like they could have made the dark ring drain her energy and subsequently revert her back to Salamon. So there could be more screentime for Salamon and be more appreciated. Then there could be more chance to also showcase Gatomon's capabilities as a champion subsequently

I like it when digimon evolution lines don't make biological sense, it is one of the things that makes digimon unique and can make digivolution lines more interesting. I think that having a unifying motif, such as a color scheme, is more important and to making digivolution line look good. For example, I hate Seraphimon's and Ophanimon's design as part of their digivolution lines. I think it would have looked better if they had done something different, like Magnadragon or Goddramon, or have kept the same color scheme. I think that Seraphimon looks different enough from Magnangemon that a small redesign would work, but Ophanimon just looks like a variant of Angewomon. When I picture other digivolution lines that I think look good as a whole, such as Silphymon's, even though the digimon changes you can see small details that connects each stage together. Even in Valkyrimon, which mostly abandons the cat elements of the line, you can still see the Hawkmon feathers in the cape and Angewomon's blonde hair and covered face. It's the small details that make digivolution lines look good, in my opinion.

Gatomon digivoles to magnadramon/holydramon makes makes sense because she was on her own for the longest without a partner in harsh conditions. A holy beast is more fitting to draw out her full fighting potential. Although if Kairi had salamon in the beginning, she will be a ophanimon due to her human connections (dog is man's best friend 😉).

I still like the idea of Ophanimon being a Slide evo of Holydramon. Also... Salamon becoming gatomon is simple.. THEY ARE HOLY DIGIMON! They have holy rings. Salamons collar carries over to Gatomon with the ring around her neck going to her tail. Gatomon going into Angewomon makes sense because of this as well. And if you think about it. IN Japan Dragons are probably more holy then Angels. So a Angel Digimon going into a dragon does make sense. At least in my mind. I feel like in Digimon Adventure 2020 they will have Ophanimon as Gatomons final evo. Since it's confirmed to be a alternate universe compared to the main timeline. BUt one can only hope.

I always figured that the rookie level comes with a certain level of nievete and purity. By the time gatoman joins the main cast she's already had to deal with abuse at the hands of myotismon. She doesn't go back to salamon because she hasn't moved past that experience (and likely never will). Only through the love and support of our bonds can we maintain a child-like wonder at the world, even after we've grown into adults.

Tri has a LOT of disappointing moments I am noticing. And yes I know of the whole ring around the Rosie that is Gatomon's evolutionary line. She goes from a dog who digivolves into a cat who then digivolves into a sexy angel. And while I will admit it is very generic I still have to admit that if it wasn't for Angeawomon, then younger me and older me would not go DAMN that is surprising and hot! I’d say most the 02 Digimon’s Megas feel like the Mega of only one the Digimon in the Jogress. I guess a way to think of it in Canon is that all the Digimon of that Season are Ancient Digimon who take a lot to Digivole in general (I.E. the lore of Armor Evolution). So, the Jogress can just be seen as sort of a stepping stone to get one of the Digimon in the Jogress closer to their Megas. Or at least that’s my theory at least.

I feel like in a weird way, Ophanimon is Salamon's Mega Form and Magnadramon is Gatomon's. With Gatomon, it reaches the zenith of it's power, but it's still a beast digimon, so it would have a beastly form. Salamon on the other hand is drawing out the full power of its holy ring to become an angel digimon. The Gatomon line works because it's pull itself down two different paths and doesn't know which one to choose.

I've had a theory regarding Tailmon in relation to Plotmon and Nefertimon. See without the Holy Ring, Tailmon is considered a child level and if you look at the designs, Nefertimon seems more like the "natural evolution" for Tailmon. And if I'm gonna be honest, Nefertimon does transition better into Angewomon than the little kitty turning into a scantily dressed angel. So my theory is that in the past, before the "modern era" of the digital world, Tailmon was originally a child level digimon, with Nefertimon being the Adult stage that drew out the Holy species and Virus Busters DNA within its data that allowed it to evolve into Angewomon. Now onto Plotmon, this is where it gets interesting. Because Plotmon is described as an experimental digimon, which leads me to believe it is a more "recent" digimon. But what could the original experiment behind the creation of this digimon have been focused on? Simple, the Holy Ring itself. It is said that Plotmon is stronger than most child level digimon because of the Holy Ring it carries. So come the experiments with the Holy Ring, Plotmon could have evolved into a new variant of Tailmon, the one we see carrying the Holy Ring on its tail, which boosted it to an adult level and (as part of my theory) brought out the Virus Busters and Holy species data without the need for Nefertimon to do so, and provided a faster route to Angewomon. And by extension, provided an alternate route to LadyDevimon. This is all entirely my own headcanon, but if I had to make sense out of Tailmon being able to Armor evolve despite being an adult level, this to me makes the most sense. Especially since Tailmon kinda fits in better with the other child level digimon like V-mon, Patamon, Agumon, Hawkmon and so on. Really wish they'd show Plotmon more because, come on, that little thing is so adorably precious ya just wanna cuddle with it for hours.

I prefer Ophanimon as Gatomon's Mega. I grew up watching Frontier, and I lot more familiar with Ophanimon rather than Magnadramon. I also really like her design, especially how they incorporated wheels and different animals into her armor, referencing the more biblically accurate angels. Plus, I think Ophanimon works well as Seraphimon's female counterpart, while not making her design a complete rehash. I like Magnadramon, but its design honestly nothing special.

This is great Zero! I am also another one who prefers her mega to be Magnadramon 😂😂😂! I always had a theory that it is more common for a Angewomon to become a Magnadramon and that it would take a very special Angewomon to become Ophanimon, since she’s based off one of the three types of angels closest to God. And I liked that she always reverted back to her champion because she had to digivolve to Gatomon all on her own before she actually met Kari.

I don't think gatomon needs another identity like magnadramon/holydramon because since the beginning we already got that gatomon identity as hikari's digimon partner is being takeru's digimon partner counterpart. And since the beginning we think that there is a "couple of angels" in the group (male angel and female angel). Angemon and angewomon is my favorite digimon pairing, so it got a bit ruined when angewomon digivolve into a dragon. I dont hate magnadramon, but I prefer Ophanimon since it keeps on track with "couple angels of the group" theme

Hey Dex, Do you think all four Gatomons will fuse into a powerful digimon? Cause You mentioned Ordamon, Fusion of 2 fallen angel digimon of 2 related cat digimon then theres Mastemon who is the Fusion of Angewomon and Lady Devimon Used by Mirei. So will there be a 4 way digivolution of the cats into a digimon called (My thought on the digimon not official) called Tigressmon Who appears as a beautiful alluring blonde woman with tiger patterned clothes and a hood of a tiger that fights with charming and decisive attacks using her dagger but she has another form that she becomes once aggitated and weakened called Beast form where here lower half becomes a large tiger and her arms turn into claws while she her teeth become and her two canines become longer (Sabercat) Her tiger head on the bottom wields a dual blade spear and her human top half carries a bow where she breaks off her saber fangs to use as arrows. She loses herself in battle until her enemies are eliminated however she is very protective of what she considers her children whether be a digidestined or a baby level digimon and might even run away with them from a fight if she thinks her children will be afraid of her Beast form but will enter beast form if there is no other option.

I decided to not use a white background for the video, once I uploaded the video I noticed a problem. Many of the images on the left and right side were cut in half, for example, you could only see half of Gatomons body. I don't know the reason why, but I believe it was because of the black background, maybe when rendering, the images were cut automatically, So i reupload the video with the white background and luckily this time there was no error.

I like both Magnadramon and Ophanimon. Yet Digimon have multiple digivolutions. It would be interesting if Gatomon and its variants get alternate digivolutions based on muskateers.
