Dan is on fire at the plate. The new stance and choking up on the bat is paying off. His swing so much shorter and hands are so much faster. Beautiful Swings!

thats not a new batting stance... its the same HORRIBLE one he's been doing all season. Wayyyy too much movement between windup and release (specifically vertical movement caused by squatting then straightening mid-pitch) which leads to relying HEAVILY on timing and not visual acuity. Timing can be changed drastically in this league so good pitchers that mix it up (like Robles, Knorp, or other first pitchers) are going to dominate him. Hitting a couple home runs against lowly Gators pitching is one thing... but I hope he gets it worked out.

Agreed. In my eyes, Dan's problem is that he's too predictable from each arm slot. I'm no wiffleball expert, but it's pretty easy to pick up that he only throws 2 pitches per arm slot. And because the move so differently, it's easy to pick up out of the hand. In a league where Knorp, Ryan Kracht, and walgate have multiple pitches from multiple windups/arm slots, it makes Dan easy to read

Yeah they need to shake things up. The team is incredibly stale. The rest of the league has improved since the Gators won and they have stayed the same. Also, the speed limit really hurt Jorgy's pitching. He was throwing lasers and dominating the league.

The reason Daniel Schultz has been getting hit around so much this season is because I believe that he is tipping all of his pitches. When he's throwing his knuckle drop, he brings him elbow so much farther to the side than he would with his fastball. Also, while throwing his slider he steps so much farther to the side.

Dan really needs to stop the “start low, rise up” he’s been doing all season. It’s changing his eye level and I think causing a huge drop in his hitting. Edit: So by the last AB of game one, he started lessening the movement and it made a huge difference in his contact. Love to see it.
