Broski, this is literally the robot design I was working on until the new game was released.

Is the pneumatic controller roller intake made to save space? or does it serve another function

I thought that 3d printed parts cannot be functional, only decorative? That is what the orange pieces are, right? Sweet robots!

Jason FPV in VexU we’re allowed an unlimited number of 3D printed parts and other manufactured parts as long as they’re made by the team. So all of the orange and blue pieces are completely legal.

Ah, I'm a part of the standard VRC High school division so we can't do that sadly.

Jason FPV yeah, I hope they allow 3D printed stuff to high schoolers soon

@@JackSopotnick Personally I feel like 3d printing would be pretty terrible for highschool. Using it in Vex U, I feel like it's basically slamming a round peg through a square hole. It lets you brute force any problem without any sort of ingenuity. No printing also really levels the playing field because the skill gap in modeling and printer capability will have night and day differences in the capability of robots. Autonomous and VEX U are pretty good places for it to stay I think.

yeah I totally agree. highschool should be as less pay to win as possible. for example the only machining that is legal in vrc is machining the vex plates and laser cut lexan. and the amount of stuff you can do with those techniques alone is crazy. I’ve designed a bot to be like 97% percent custom machined parts with sheet metal bending, laser cut and 3D printing, I’m blown away by insane amount of flexibility you get with custom parts and would never go back. But like it’s crazy expensive and I’m lucky enough to go to a school that provides access to this machinery for free. never mind sheet metal, but with 3D printing it would be hard to limit the amount of filament team could use so it would be unlimited for the most part. That would actually be broken and unfair because I’ve seen a vex u team that basically only uses cchannels and 3D printed stuff and their robot is actually unbelieveable but no leaks. that kind of stuff just doesn’t really belong in highschool because my highschool would have been the ones that would have had very limited access to 3D printing. the robot I could have made with 3D printed parts would have been much better than the one I had, and this simple budget difference along with the greater disparity in funding in highschools compared to universities would make vex even more pay to win. if you want pay to win robotics go to first lol
