Androgenic Alopecia: What Is It & What To Do About It (Solution For Hair Baldness)

Looking for a solution for hair baldness? Today's video is for you. You might have heard the term androgenic alopecia in the process of searching. But what is Androgenic Alopecia? Let's talk about it.
If you break down to the term, it's actually pretty self-explanatory. So androgen for andro, genic for genetic, and alopecia for hair loss. So it's androgen, genetically related hair loss. So antigens are a set of hormones. In this particular case, DHT is the culprit or dihydrotestosterone that obviously play a lot of roles in your body.
But in this case, if you have a DHT sensitivity, that's genetically programmed into your hair, then at some point, your DHT is going to impact the hair on your scalp, and it will begin to fall out. Slow and gradual over time, this can impact both men and women. It can start as early as 18 for men.
Oftentimes it won't start until in the mid thirties for women depending on their hormones, or it could start as late as in your fifties, sixties or seventies, it's really all about genetics. Lifestyle factors and exactly how your hormonal balance is occurring within your body. So collectively, if you're dealing with androgenetic alopecia, there's a couple of things that really stand out about this type of hair loss that will allow you to identify it.
So one androgenetic alopecia only occurs on the top of the scalp. So we'll only be happening on the top of the head because of that. When you're looking in the mirror, if you've got uniformed hair loss throughout your entire head, It's not androgenetic alopecia. If you have more hair loss on the top of your head, then on the sides of the scalp, then it probably is a related to DHD because there's other types of hair loss that might actually be impacting the sides of the scalp.
So when you're looking at that again, DHT or Androgenetic hair loss only happens on the top of the head. So typically it's in a pattern. So obviously you're going to see some loss typically at the front and then the back, and then it will meet in the middle. More women will actually lose hair in the middle, just a spot behind that frontal hairline.
And it will spread out oftentimes in a Christmas tree pattern. But again, it's really dependent upon your genetic pattern. Also there has to be a family history. So if there's no one else in your family, that's lost hair, then realistically it is unlikely that you're dealing with DHT related loss. Now, some people don't know their family, they may be adopted or.
Maybe some of the older people in their family had passed on early, so they don't have that connection to their genetic history. So that may be a little bit more of a challenge, but ultimately if you're losing hair in a pattern, then it is most likely DHT related loss. If it's only on the top of the head.
Some of the other attributes of a DHT or Androgenetic hair loss, you will notice that there's oftentimes more oil in the areas of hair loss. So like in the temples, frontal hairline, maybe the midsection of the scalper and the crown increased oil is your body basically trying to push out the excessive amount of DHT binding to the hair follicle because it knows it's bad and creating inflammation and it's trying to flush it out.
Another item. That is a really a key factor for androgenetic alopecia is the fact that it's slow and gradual over time. So if you had nine months ago, a full head of hair and you've lost 50% of your hair in the last nine months, it is unlikely that it is exclusively DHT related or DHT related at all.
Because it takes time for those hairs to fall out and grow back smaller and finer and do this cyclically for many, many years to actually create a level of miniaturization that's noticeable. Now you may have a powerful genetic history, so it happens a little bit faster in a couple of years, but it's not going to happen in months.
Now that you can identify whether you have DHT related loss or not, how do you fix it? So there are two paths actually. So there's a pharmaceutical path. And then there is a natural path. Now I usually always recommend the natural path unless something else is going on a very strong genetic predisposition.

Although I'm not sure if they're really accurate, this put a smile on my face as I was really really depressed & worried if I've androgenic alopecia though my part hasn't widened.. I lost severe hair loss within a year when I was 13.. After that, my hair kept shedding.. I've dandruff.. My hair mineral analysis test came out that I was behind the minimum levels in all minerals. My haemoglobin is also low.. Nowadays though my hair fall is less, I notice the full hair being shedded.. Certain hairs are loosely rooted to the follicles when seen in the software operated camera.. Very informative video! I took the quiz about a year ago and it seems my hair loss was mostly due to inflammation. It started to lack volume, scalp irritation and I could tell their was a diffused hair thinning issue. I’ve been using the Hairstem spray, Nutra M serum and the EFA Complete Omega supplement since then and I can tell a big difference just from looking at the shower drain that my hair shedding has decreased and my scalp doesn’t itch or feel irritated. Really interesting vidéo. I'm dealing with hair loss for 15years now (I'm 34). Tried almost everything to prevent it: Minoxidil, different DHT blockers, PRP injections, laser comb... Until my 30's where I finally decided to have hair transplant (1300 follicles) on the top. After the surgery I started using finasteride with pretty good results but side effects as you described were too bothering. I even tried the topical finasteride (les side effects but still present). I still looking for a product with the same efficiency as the finasteride with no side effects. Maybe the DHT blocker that you suggest will help!

Try the NutraM Scalp Serum in addition to the internal Dht blocker. Also I bet your vitamin D three is low which does actually naturally increase your DHT. So you need to make sure you’re Blood Levels of vitamin D three are at least 60 ng/mL

Hi, thank you for posting this informative video. One thing is confusing me a little bit: you say that androgenetic hair loss only occurs on the top of the head. I’m a woman and I’ve had androgenetic hair loss since I was about 13, and unfortunately also on the sides of the scalp. The hair loss is entirely diffuse. It is clearly genetic though - with miniaturization occurring - my mother has the same issue.

Then you don’t have a Androgenetic alopecia exclusively or at all. That’s the confusing part about people diagnosing this. Many practitioners would just say androgenic alopecia because they don’t know what else is going on. There must be something else here because someone at 13 years old will not be experiencing Androgenetic a alopecia exclusively. There is another type of hair loss of play there.

Great to watch your video and do the test!! However for me it was inconclusive (as far as l could tell). I was told the thinning at the front was androgentic alopecia, but I also have all over thinning especially above the ears and then a lot of thinning at the lower part of the head at the back. So it would seem I have genetics, nutritional deficiency and inflammation, though I don't have any scalp irritation ... hmmm so basically I still have no idea what approach to take. Any suggestions? Hello doctor, I loved the way you explained this. I wonder If I have this. I'm a female. My mother has great thick hair. My father always had hair but he's been thinning from 40s. He has a male pattern baldness. I suddenly lost my hair when I was 15, I had a several stress and anxiety situation and also low iron. In 3 months my hair felt drastically. In summer my hair went better again, but next two years I was really stressed so I didn't leave time for my hair to grow back. I also messed up with my hair and I used to scratch it a lot because of stress. When I was 18, I did a home made exfoliaton from a man that said that he cured baldness... It was a lie obviously but I did it because I didn't know at the time. It was really painful and I applied through my whole entire scalp. All my scalp pieces were falling and falling with some hairs included. And that year my hair falled like crazy. So after that I had much less hair than when I first lost hair... I went to the doctors and told me I have androgenic alopecia. My blood tests were fine, I didn't have too much male hormones. But anyways, they've told me that. This year I did a stem cell treatment to my hair and it doesn't fall at all. I did 2 treatments of this and my hair doesn't fall and the thickness has improved mostly on the sides and lower side of the hair. But in the middle it hasn't improved. I don't know if I have androgenic alopecia or not. So I don't know if I should start taking hormones and Minoxidil or wait to see if my hair will grow back with the mother cell treatment. What do you think?

Make sure that your vitamin D three is at least 60 ng/mL and your ferritin is at least 70 ng/mL most physicians do not read blood tests for your hair and them telling you that it’s fine really means nothing. You must get a hold of those tests and understand where you are there. That could be half of the problem

So what happens when taking products orally to reduce test 5ar into DHT? That would mean a spike in testosterone, that isn't good either right? How would you allocate that access? As for the androgen receptors, since DHT and test is somewhat reduced internally and externally from topical, what other nonsteroidal anti-androgen topical could be applied that would most likely not cause systemic symptoms long term? I’m 22 years olds and I suffer from sudden onset of hair thinning all over, but most notably the temples regions. My hair was thick and l full 4-5 months ago. But now noticing small recession corners come out of nowhere. I have absolutely no family history for pattern baldness in the last three generations and in my distant family. Could other form of hair loss cause hairline to recede at the corners? Something like this had happened to me when i was 19, but my hair made a full recovery within a year. I have thin hair equally all over my head. Not just the top. (But no widening parts at all yet) Also I have NO family history of aga. Zero hair loss on both sides!! But the dermatologist did a biopsy a week ago and it came back I have aga. I was devastated. 😢 Also I am confused. Can biopsies be wrong???? Hello Doctor. I was using topical retinol over the counter on my face for about two weeks until I started noticing hair loss on my eyebrows. Minoxidil does not treat DHT. It simply is a growth stimulant. You must treat the underlying condition utilizing DHT blockers for androgenetic alopecia and then you can growth stimulants to support regrowth

When someone is losing hair since their teens there's usually nuritritional deficiency or sensitivity that is diriving the early onset of the hair loss. Most young people below age 25 their vitamin D3 is low. Have you checked your ferritin, vitamin D and zinc levels?
