Aww, Maze of Illusion... I think this level is probably, to my eyes, the most creative from Dark Legacy: Starting with the infinite stair illusion, then the invisible plateforms, following with the rotating landscape (Waterfall gravity if you have all noticed), the transition between days and nights especially on the long bridge to give us the feeling to run faster and finally, the moving tiles in the end which we do stand around and we don't move a single bit. All the movements with the level itself, plateforms and such, really give this level its charm. On a plus from me, it's one of the longest level you do enter around!

Ah. I remember playing this game with my dad on the PS2. I'd play the valkyrie and I lost a lot of health so often, the phrase "Green Valkyrie needs food badly" became an inside family joke.

I stepped on so many traps as the Jester that it became a family joke to yell "ME EYE" whenever somebody got hurt

When I was a little kid, my dad and I would play this a lot. He always helped me get to this level because it was, and still is, my #1 favorite level in the whole game! I love the soundtrack, and I love how random this level is. I even thought that if you stood on the moving floors for too long, you'd die, lol. I would go into this level and just listen to the music for a long time!

I feel like this is a place not even the wizards or Sumner for that matter could fathom, but the Jester somehow does, as if he's lived there all his life.

@@zerwardzelaiine7622 The Jester understands his domain and greater things about the universe above the mortal planes that mortals do not see. That's what I was alluding to. The Dream Realm is a place of secret knowledge and pure, unconstrained imagination.

very intrancing...this level alone is quite a marvel...but that begs the question how the design of the dreamwolrd went down with the developers. head of team: okay,we need one more world...and it has to be mystifying and defy reality..i want you all to take this LSD and come back tomorrow with fresh ideas.

I remember the first time I beat this level Sumner yelling something like "GOOD LUCK HEROES!" at the end of this level, since it was the last normal level in the game, and he never yelled it again on replays, and that made me kinda sad.

The only thing that had me annoyed about that stage.... is when your on a platform (With SPIKES ON IT), and the platform flips upside down and then you flip right back up (all while the spike trap is going in and out)- you Get HIT by it even if you didn't Move on the spikes. Lol it's hard to explain. >__

Kinda of a stupid question, but just out of curiosity, but why would a maze of illusion be in a Dream realm?
@Gabri_Lovecraft6 жыл бұрын
They probably were originally gonna call it "Acid Trip" instead
@thespectrumgamer73206 жыл бұрын
It is a place beyond dreams. If you pay attention, the Maze of Illusions does not come until after the nightmare. Perhaps it is a ppace where dreams within dreams happen. There's also the possibility of it being a parallel universe folding inside of itself, or your mind entering a state of Limbo, hense the confusion and illusions this level is famous for.
@reginlief16 жыл бұрын
It’s essentially abstract thought given physical domain.
