I loved Gauntlet as a kid playing it on Midway Arcade Treasures on the PS2 and I still love this game and the voice quips are what makes this game so memorable

Since there was no mention of LEGO Dimensions in the video itself, I'll tell y'all what happens myself. So the level is called, of all things, "All Your Bricks Are Belong To Us" that's not me messing around that is genuinely the title. And you start out in Space Invaders needing to save some guys, and then once you do that, you find the Foundation Element. (Which are basically iconic items from the many series's made into plot MacGuffins basically, stuff like Saruman's Palantir, Kryptonite, The Flux Capacitor, or the cake from Portal) and that would be a token of course, and once the heroes find it, the Thief from Gauntlet steals it and heads into a portal that takes you into the Thief's home turf, so you have to make your way through levels, solving puzzles and beating enemies from the game, (Even animating very choppily like the old sprites) until you meet the Thief again, and then he hops through another portal, taking you to Robotron, and now you just need to beat up enemies, and the Thief himself to end the level. It's definitely one of my favorites in the game. There's also a level pack for Midway Arcade, but that's just a walk around an arcade, where you have to get the characters back into their machines, and then play the machines for a bit. (It's called Retro Wreckage if you want to know) Oh yeah you can actually play quite a few of the actual arcade games as the ROM's are in there, you just need the Arcade machine accessory to use on specific things you can find throughout many different levels, and after you play them, you can go to the Midway Arcade world and play them whenever you want without going back into that level. This part is edited in because I forgot two other things. The Thief also appears in the cut scene that only plays after you beat the level for the first time, where Vortech, (The main bad guy) scolds all the villains he's gathered to work for him from the dimensions, says he needs to figure out the problem of the heroes himself needing to figure out where they are when they're not traveling, which leads to the Scooby-Doo level. And there's also a segment in All Your Bricks Are Belong To Us where the heroes are racing the Thief in Super Sprint. If you're a fan of old Midway arcade games at all, you should definitely look at let's play's or 100% walkthroughs, I have a good feeling you'll enjoy seeing all the references, and Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle running through the worlds in the actual story level.

While most of the Midway Arcade games were in Retro Wreckage (and required you to use other figures to get to their access points), some of them were in other levels in the game! They are as follows: Blasteroids- The End is Tri (the penultimate level of the game) Cyberball 2072- The Mysterious Voyage of Homer (only playable if you own Homer Simpson's figure) Klax- Aperture Science (only playable if you own Chell's figure) Marble Madness- Prime Time (one of the levels taking place in the game's original setting Foundation Prime) Paperboy- Painting the Town Black (the DC Comics level) RoadBlasters- The Phantom Zone (the original Ghostbusters level, 2016 GB wasn't out yet) 720- Back to the Future! (only playable if you own Marty McFly's figure) Timber- Once Upon a Time Machine in the West (the main BTTF level) Toobin'- Follow the LEGO Brick Road (the first level in the game, taking place in The Wizard of Oz) Vindicators- Riddle-Earth (the LotR level) Xybots- A Dalektable Adventure (the Doctor Who level)

I can tell I'm not the only one here who's played the game. I should really start getting more of the characters and stuff through... "very legal" means. (I an't paying for all that just to play more of the game, even though I have like, a good chunk of the sets, that's more so just for collector's value than anything now. Still love the game enough to collect, but I'm not doing to play the game anymore since I can just do some scurvy acts thanks to NFC tags)

God, this is a flashback. I remember playing both Legends and Dark Legacy in whatever arcade had the game. I never was that good at it, but man oh man was it fun gathering up as many friends as I could to play some Gauntlet.

I remember playing "Gauntlet: Legends" for the PS1 back in my youth. And I remember having NO IDEA what the game was about. All I knew was that there were four characters to choose from and hoards of monsters to fight. Good times. 😊

The fact that Gauntlet Legends hasn't been released on Nintendo Switch Online is rather shocking to say the least. Heck even an HD re-release of Gauntlet Dark Legacy would be phenomenal on Steam (assuming it hasn't been released on it already since I don't keep with PC releases) along with modern consoles.

It's cool that you talked about the gauntlet series but I never knew that we had a new game....... And looking at it oh my God what have they done. I mean it looks pretty all right but it doesn't come close to the legends games not even close so I'm with you they really should not touch the rest of the series and try to bring it back. I'm tired of both franchises being brought back only to be brought down by buying micro transactions and stupid ideas from developers. It's better to just find dark Legacy and the Legends games online Then to rely on modern devs to bring old stuff back but still great job For You to Dig up this old relic from the past OQ!

I remember Gauntlet being so much fun on the NES. And Gauntlet Legends on the PS1. But then they ruined it with the ads for a later game, I think it may have been Dark Legacy, that was basically "unfortunately, one of you has to play as the chick" with one of the other characters remarking on the Valkyrie's breasts. Misogyny is no way to function in society, much less to sell a game. How the hell did anyone think "lol girls am i right" was going to get anyone to buy it? The game isn't even sexist so why the hell did they pick that as their face?
