Unpopular opinion but i don't find Wargoyle or Pyribbit that annoying or really that bad like that, i know they are not perfect but still i still enjoy their boss battles. Pyribbit is one of the most challenging bosses in Kirby's franchise, which is one of the reasons i like it. I like this boss cause its one of the few ones that don't go out too easily most bosses in this franchise. Also i think the way they adapted The Hunchback of Notre-Dame in KH was cool, i don't think it was disappointing one bit. But that's just my opinion. Ok?

*sees Okumura in the dishonorable mentions* OH THAT GUY IS *MY* NUMBER 1 PICK & SPECIFICALLY THE ROYAL VERSION. Okay for some context for those not as familiar with Persona 5, basically every boss in the Royal update got reworked slightly & almost all of them for the better. the first boss got an extra minion that can power up his signature attack that also fits thematically, the second boss had the way his shield vs weak phase completely reworked in the flow to make it tie even better into him being a fraud irl, & the 3rd boss pulls out his giant mech phase FIRST this time. The ONE exception to me on the reworks making them better is Okumura. Now sure in vanilla 5 he was a mostly mindless mook rush with a time limit that ends with one last beefy dude, but what does Royal do? Oh just make it so you have to knock out all the enemies in the specific waves AT THE SAME TIME IN JUST 1 OR 2 TURNS OR THE WAVE RESETS! Now this isn't an issue for the first few because they are about as weak as a normal Shadow to you but the later waves? Especially the one from right before the big beefy boss tier enemy who doesn't have the turn limit? Beefy enough to require good use of the baton pass mechanic (fair enough test the game knowledge) but with the last one ONLY FEASIBLY BEING WEAK TO JOKER & NOIR WHERE NOIR *DOESN'T* HAVE THE ABILITY TO HAVE HER BATON PASS UPGRADED YET IN THE STORY SO BETTER HOPE YOU REMEMEMBERED TO HAVE SOME DARK OR PSY BATTLE ITEMS THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD FORGET IS EVEN AN OPTION AT THIS POINT! Oh & to top it all off he gets one last extra bit of defense in the form of a cognitive Haru *who can pull an Electrode & blow your ass up if you aren't fast enough* so better hope Joker's Persona has a good defense stat if you fail that warning. I was LOOKING FORWARD to the boss because while I never minded him much in Vanilla he was still the worst boss in that version & all the bosses before him were IMPROVED in Royal YET HE'S FUCKING WORSE. Edit: oh yeah almost forgot the most bullshit part, HE'LL BUFF *ONE* DUDE'S DEFENSE SO SPAMMING MA- SPELLS (Ma-s being one of my main strats in the Persona games since I build my immunities around it) LIKELY WON'T KILL JUST ONE OF THEM IN TIME

My thoughts? 10: Honestly, Frollo would've been a much better boss. And did you forget Linking with your Dream Eater pets? 9. I fought him in Planet Robobot and I was SO IRRITATED with him hopping into the background! COWARD! 8. If I want a good final boss from a 2D hack and slash, I'd fight General Gaius. 7. I remember Oscar ranting about him on his worst Zelda bosses list. "THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME!" 6. And I thought Seth was hard to beat! But is he worse than Azazel from Tekken or Magaki from King Of Fighters? 5. This is unrelated, but I'm so excited for the third Sonic movie! 4. Sorry. Never played Prime 2. Only Prime Remastered. 3. They say hips don't lie, but I don't want to deal with THIS! 2. I still think it's stupid the plot of No More Heroes 2 is based on a sidequest. 1. Whoa... Never thought Dr Wily could be THAT tough! The Watcher Knights from Hollow Knight come to mind for me. They don't telegraph their attacks very well and decide very quickly whether to attack you on the ground or in the air, you have to fight two at a time, and there are six of them in total (5 if you find a nearby secret). To add insult to injury, they're one of the relatively few bosses actually required to reach an ending.

The worst part about Wlly machine 7 is that in order to have a good time you have to exploit the AI. because the balls stop have way if you dash to the corner and wait the retargeting gives you a relatively easy pattern to avoid. The issue is that you have to win by cheesing this thing!

You forgot the kicker about MM7 Final Boss; The boss rush and Wily are part of the same stage. If you lose all your lives, you have to redo the boss rush as well...

Damn, they put a DOOM barrel in Tails vs. Eggman mech fight #2? Didn't remember that. But I'd actually say the more damaging thing about the fight, the fact that Tails had scrapped an Eggman mech UNARMED in Adventure 1 aside, is the leadup to it: Eggman: [still holding Amy hostage] "Give me the real Emerald if you want to live." Tails: [undeterred by a friend of his being used as a meat shield] "No." Eggman: [lets Amy go] "OK, I'll kill you first fair and square." Amy: [DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP] Real smart of everyone and real faithful to the games' past there, guys. Woo. "ON PURPOSE!" And STILL harder than intended, but only slightly, because bad translation screws up the in-game Wild Coil explanation dialogue. Oh, Capcom. Why you gotta localize so crap? "I think [Capcom's] more than capable of [coming up with new villains]." But NOT capable of trusting them with the reins for more than one entry. SF6 is the latest proof of that with Hobo Ken Bison.

Honestly, they SHOULD'VE gone through with the mech fight as the third phase of Number 2, at least then that could serve as an apology for the first two phases. Hell, I had to look up a walkthrough that shows you had to lose on PURPOSE, that's how badly they screwed up, so again using Glastonbury to wale on Jasper's derpy final form would've been the best part, man, and we'd be compensated for the pain and suffering Titanium Batt-man gave us beforehand!

That DS Piranha Plant Patron pick speaks to me, imagine if you will: You’re under 15, sub ten even, Your parents get you mario party ds because you enjoyed a gamecube MP, You go through story mode, you reach the point where “only you” can defeat the Piranha Plant because the game doesn’t want computers doing your job for you… And the button mashing window is so tight you NEED to ask your parents to beat this boss for you. Not asking them to give it a try to see if they like it, you NEED their help just to beat the FIRST! *YAY*ING! BOSS! And even when you get better at it, you realize that when mashing so vigorously you RUN THE RISK OF DESTROYING YOUR A BUTTON! And beating him seven more times just for all the playable character figures is seven times too many… Aside from that, Moles from Billy Hatcher is the bane of my existence. An ice area boss in an ice rink? Say it ain’t so… Your basic eggs aren’t going to crack this walrus’ hide, and you need fruit to grow your egg big enough to send him packing. How do you get it? From breaking the ice shards while Moles charges around the rink incased a big ball of ice, during this and another charge attack he does, he’s invincible by the way! And you might be thinking “just stay out of the way of his attacks, it’s that simple!” Sadly it’s not! Your method of attack is destructible, and easily so with either charge, especially since you’re growing it to make it deal more damage, and also make it an easier target! Couple that with high speed and rng a plenty that would make this blubbering backbreaker the boost guardians brother from another mother considering billys boots have zero traction, and depending on how naive you are or if you happen to misplace that memory card, you may have to fight him more than once with his voice clips taunting you in the back of your mind and… this game seriously needs a good remake on modern consoles..

@@Bowser6495 oddly enough one thing he never mentioned in any of his rants was that in AH3 you’re only allowed the use of 1 burst per match which acts as your combo breaker, But doing so consumes your entire force gauge, Parace However can not only burst as many times as she wants, but her force gauge refills immediately after using it.

there's an easy way to cheese the final mech fights in SA2-just get right up in your opponents face and keep on hammering the shoot button, your opponent won't be able to interrupt you most of the time and their health will go down pretty fast, chances are you'll be able to finish them off before they're able to fire their rockets or lasers.

Some of these I have faced. Wargoyle wasn't too much trouble, Pyribbit was a huge hassle, I could only play the 3DS port of Majoras's Mask so I know how bad Gyorg is. And don't get me started on Plesioth. The moment I saw the silhouette, I knew exactly what was next! I like fish, I really do. But not this fish. And I still believe there are much worse monsters in one of my absolute favorite games. Same thing with Jasper. Even though I haven't played NMH, I could tell it was gonna be him. And for the mentions? Shadow Okumura wasn't so bad personally. Just got blown up once before completely destroying all of his workers and Cognitive Haru. Giovanni as a Pokemon fan could've been better. Mogenar was pretty hard. And finally the Bed of Chaos. Let's just say the more I play DS, the more I dread the fact I'll reach this tree and have to deal with it.

10. Aw yes. I know this was Number 1 on Joshscorcher's Worst Kingdom Hearts bosses list. 9. I want to try frog legs for the first time when I see this thing. 8. Feels like a sidescrolling Anubis Rex from Pac-Man World 1 with the bullet heck mixed with platforming you've got to deal with in this fight. 7. Wasn't expecting a joke about how you accidentally showed an image of Skyward Sword instead of Majora's Mask for that segment. And MAN I wish we could just summon the Giant Soldier of Stone to destroy the moon. 6. Just realized Tabuu's screen wave attack attack is a ripoff of Seraphic wing. And Sonic was only able to interrupt it during a cutscene. 5. Speaking of Sonic. I can't add anything. 4. When I saw Metroid. I knew you what you were going to talk about. 3. I wonder if a certain BlazingKnight could turn one of these things into a good meal. 2. Aw yes. Here's someone I haven't heard anyone talk about in a LONG TIME! 1. As someone whose favorite classic game is 7. I absolutely agree. I say if anyone can use save states. I say try to do so to avoid wasting as few E Tanks & the S-Tank if possible during the boss rush.

Except it's not bad because it's cheap as hell, it's bad because it's insultingly easy. D.M.2: How fitting that the worst palace in the game also is capped off with the worst boss in the game. A lazy boss design, a boring enemy rush, and a time limit that doesn't even pause during the intermission dialogue. D.M.5: Why did it take until Elden Ring for a Souls game to include a jump button?

My entry would be Kamsky from Cold Fear, what a shitty way to end an otherwise solid survival horror game, it has every bad boss trope you could imagine.

I think if Okumura is mentioned then Wakaba should be too because using Ryuji and/or Ann can cause the fight to take more than twice as long. Also Heart of Hades from Kid Icarus Uprising should be a dishonorable mention because it's like fighting Super Sonic (fast and invincible).

Um, hate to rain on your parade, but you can't use specials even if the arena had rings for tails and Eggman, specials are multi-player only, so even in the second sonic/shadow boss which has infinite rings the opponent can use their specials all day and you can't use 1 even if you reach 999 rings.

To hear about your own experiences from these games, and also learning new info on games and their technology, makes me eager to keep watching. Also, good countdown. Excellent footage and solid explanations. And good call mentioning the Bed of Chaos. For as difficult as Dark Souls was and still is, this boss REALLY throws the player for a loop in how, instead actually fighting the boss, you have dance around it to destroy the little bug hiding behind all the branches. And to think, this creature is part of the reason for why there are demons in the world!

Since I like to include personal honourable mentions here's three. 1. The Star Destroyer from The Force Unleashed, you have to pull it out of the sky in a certain way instead of just straight down into the planet. 2. Deathstroke from Arkham Knight, it's just a repeat of a previous boss battle which the world's greatest assassin deserves so much better then (granted most of the bosses from Arkham Knight could be on a list like this). 3. Screwball from Spider-Man (2018) Joshscorcher called her the most annoying boss fight and I agree with him, she could give Ashley from the original Resident Evil 4 a run for most annoying voice in a video game (her performer is actually very good and I'm a fan of her other work just not Screwball).

The Discordance from Labyrinth of Galleria. Given it requires doing annoying item farm quests and backtracking to find special weapons (which can be sold), one could say without exaggerating that this fight actively makes the game worse. To go into further detail, you either need the eight weapons with Mysterious Erosion to hit the correct segment or use the abilities of the Destruction Pact to render them vulnerable to regular attacks. Unfortunately, there are *nine* segments so even if you found all the weapons you still need to go for the pact. Since said pact leaves the members as sitting ducks, you'll need to escort them until they finish casting the right spell on each part. Which is easier said than done when every single part has a chance to counter *dying* with an all targeting instakill attack. This leads to two other annoyances: the revival items heal for so little that the target will probably die right after and the computer wins the draws. The cherry on top is that, despite needing two solutions from outside the fight, you can never run from boss fights. This is especially infuriating because your first attempt is right after fighting another extremely hard boss, so you're likely to have min-maxed your pacts and would therefore have no choice but to throw the fight against the Discordance. This could also happen in later attempts if you *did* bring the Destruction Pact... but the members were wiped out too early.

I actually just beat Gill in Street Fighter 3 Third Strike just a few days ago, and I suck at street fighter! Normal mode fyi. He's really not that hard. The hardest thing about him is his resurrection move but honestly as long as you have an HP lead you can easily interrupt his revive and cause him only to restore 25% to 50% of his HP. So as long as you have more HP than him after he revives you should be good, especially when Gill's meter charges so slowly compared to other characters and he only has one bar. He almost never uses his other supers, only resurrection which can be easily interrupted so he doesn't FULLY revive. Honestly Gill is a pretty fair but difficult fight, especially if you know how to actually play the game right with blocks and parrys and supers and specials and ex moves. Unlike me, a first time player with little to no knowledge on the tech, who even then only used 8 continues on him. M.Bison in Street Fighter Alpha 3 is WAY more unfair since his special is an instakill unblocked and if you lose JUST ONCE you don't get a second chance. You just get a bad ending (M-Bison's ending) and get booted to the title screen. Yeah Gil is probably harder but at least you get infinite tries against him. Against Alpha 3 Bison you DON'T get a second chance. (at least in the arcade version, which is the version included in the collections)

Wily Capsule 7 gave me hell my first time fighting him last year, but time hardens me with Mega Man. Wily laughs, I jump. I land, the orbs come out, make their first dart at me. I slide, they miss. Yeah, I still get hit every so often, but going in with a full stock of tanks makes your victory inevitable. Oddly enough, Mega Man 8 has also helped. Aside from maybe 6, I've played it the most out of every classic game and the orb attack returns, where it's the same pattern, same way to dodge, no irritating elemental effects. But that's how Mega Man is. Short games make for easy replayability, which then leads to memorizing boss patterns.

I'd be hard pressed to find a boss more hectic and easy to get blindsided by than the Dual Barons in Shantae Half-Genie Hero. Squid Baron is manageable, but Hypno Baron's constant flying around makes him a pain if you don't have a powerful-enough projectile to reach him (this is primarily a problem in Friends to the End, but the other campaigns aren't far behind if you're not well-prepared).

I remember the boss in the 4th mansion in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. It was a turret segment. And the aiming wasn't always accurate. Even worse is the turret shooting bombs at the ice shields on the ghost can overheat and you'd have to restart the boss fight from the beginning. There was also this monster mini-boss in Paper Mario. It was underwhelming, especially for an enemy you encounter in the second to the last chapter in Paper Mario. Maybe if it was a little tougher or placed in chapter 3 instead of chapter 7 it would've been ok.

I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring, and talk about my personal pick. I adore the Blaster Master Zero Trilogy. It consists of some of my favourite games of all time. That being said, the games aren't perfect. In fact, BMZ2 has my personal pick for a Bad Boss in a Good Game. The boss mutant of Planet Montoj, Gathervira. Ok, some context. Planet Montoj is the 2nd planet in the game. During your travels across the planet, you encounter the first of the many other MA Pilots you'll encounter across the rest of the series. His name is Gonbei. He's a farmer, and the pilot for MA-05 - Kuebiko. He initially mistakes you for Zavira, a mutant notorious for devastating the crops, which prompts a battle. Thankfully, Tae (Gonbei's Support) informs him that Jason isn't his enemy (thanks to Jason's support, Eve). Then the 2 agree to help him deal with Zavira. So you make your way through the parts of Montoj you couldn't reach, with your new Recoil Jump (It's a wall jump for the tank), so you can take down Zavira. You succeed, but turns out, the fight isn't over. After heading outside, it's revealed that multiple Zavira clones fused together into a mountain monstrosity known as Gathervira, and both the Gaia Sophia crew and the Kuebiko crew work together to take it down. As for why the fight sucks? Well, it doesn't seem too bad at first. You scale the behemoth with the Hover, and shoot the gem on its head, until it stops moving, and doors open up, that Jason needs to enter alone. Rinse and repeat that 5 more times and you're done. Inside? More Zaviras. The first door has a fight against a singular Zavira, then the 2nd adds an additional one, and then the 3rd one adds another one on top of that, and then finally, the 4th one replaces all the destroyable blocks (so you can replenish your Health and Gun Level) with spikes that damage you. It's a glorified boss rush, and it drags on for SO long. And the worst part? If you die at any point? You start from the beginning of the fight. And what's worse than that? Area G consists of 2 boss rushes (1 for Tank Bosses and 1 for On-Foot Bosses), and Gathervira is there AGAIN, meaning you have to fight him TWICE. So, a glorified boss rush (of the same enemies), that takes an eternity, made worse by the fact that you have to do it a 2nd time, in the lead-up to the endgame.

3DS Gyorg goes about as fast as the N64 Gyorg, as you can just go into the water as Zora Link instead of waiting on land for phase 1, with the respawning magic jars making fast-swimming a non-issue, then use the Zora boomerangs to hit him directly if he's not near any mines to suck up (takes about 6 hits to stun). Also, the only 3DS boss that is less "open-ended" is Goht (losing the arrow trick), as all the other bosses have tricks or alternative options depending on the phase, with the "stun and then wail on them" also being true of the N64 bosses (besides N64 Twinmold, who is so simple he is pretty much just wailing on him).

12:26 actually the 1st 3d Sonic game is Sonic the fighters,not Sonic 3d blast or Sonic Adventure and StF is a solid fighting game (even Metal Sonic is a awful boss fight if you are a rookie and you don't learned all the game like the sidesteps,wall jumps all air recovery. Seriously,the skill level of the community,especially in the community tournaments are insanely skillful). P.d. some dishonorable mention for me are that boss from Armored Core 2 then was put in a unfair way comparing to the final boss of Veredict Day. Other boss besides of Metal Sonic in StF,Ares from Spartan Total Warrior is so unfair.
