Yo Ron! Great battle and details from you! I love my Senn MTW 3's for the sound, look and fit but I'm on my 3rd set because they keeping dying out. If I want to prioritize sound quality and comfy fit, where else should I look? Technics AZ80? Beoplay EX? I'm stuck. I watched all your Sony and AZ-80 videos. I'm a Metal/Rock n roll fan so tons of guitar, heavy vocals and bass drum kickin'

Great question! In your case, I would go with the AZ80s. The EX has great sound, but the natural sound is not loud enough, IMO. And the ANC is awful on the EX.

Agree at 100% with Ron on this! Trust Ron my friend, he is so fair and honest! I am happy with all earbuds that i've bought from Ron's advices :) For me, the b&o ex sound very good honestly, but for metal sound you will not get the exciting electric guitar and speed of the double bass drum. They shine with edm and dance music (boum boum boum). But when you add two bass drum, they lack of precision, it's muddy! And the fit...the fit!!! Worst earbuds i have for fit!! They always fall down!! I bought comply foam tips but even with those comply tips, the fit is terrible...i tried them one time at the gym...and this is the last time hahah The soundstage of the az80 is so wide, you have space for instruments separation. When i listen to in flames, i love the way i hear the two electric guitars separately and the bass guitar too. The bass is not as powerful as the EX but you can hear more precisely the two bass drum when the drummer loose control haha So trust Ron my friend, he is the boss on youtube. He is my reference :)

Somewhat surprised by your decisio, as I would have given the XM 5's the edge, imho. I have them both, and dont get me wrong, the MTW3 are GREAT buds, but the Sonys sound a little better to me, and fit a little better for me. I would love to see a contest between the Sony's and the Status Audio Between 3 ANC.

How much sound personalization and tidal actually helps with S23 Ultra, as Samsung don't support necessary codec? Did you just stream with SBC?

Actually, the S23 Ultra does support aptX and LDAC codecs. Sound personlization helps a lot with these two earbuds. You can really hear the difference.

Have you tried the Noble Focus Mystique? My favorite by far and same price range. Also the hifiman svanar wireless (pricey $500) and final audio wireless ze800 ($350).

Hi sir ! I have them all and let me tell you… if you are an audiophile, nothing come close of svanar hifiman… they have dac amp in each earbuds!! Then come the noble and finally the ze! The ze have the best soundstage of them all, but don’t except a lot of bass hahaha they really lack of bass ! Noble are one of the best earbuds on the market, but if you tweak the eq with a lot of bass they will distorted. They have the best crystal clear sounding i have ever heard! But the svanar man !!! The SVANAR… wow !! They play in a different league :)

@@user-nu1lt6tf8s I have the svanar and the noble. I much prefer noble because of the fit, build quality, and more intimate sound presentation. I understand why someone would prefer the svanar tho because they are more audiophily “neutral”, but I’ve always had an issue with hifiman products feeling cheap and they are almost twice the price.

Have you had any problems with charging on these earbuds? My Momentum 3s won't charge anymore and I heard some people having problems with their Sonys.

I did have that issue with the right Momentum 3 earbud after having them for about a year. I had to replace them.

Even though I avoided testing M3 (due to awful reviews on issues) and after testing 20+ competitors, they’ll get to me in couple of days. Why because they’re under $200.00 currently and if they’re not better than my 3ANC I’ll return them so we’ll see…

@@ronontech ANC surely are amazing SD-wise; hopefully updates or new version will add better call quality, have its app connected if device is (currently we need to activate the app separately), spatial or immersive mode, pause if removed, 5.3+, etc…

@@ronontech Unfortunately, they do! I was the biggest Sony fan! This name was legendary during the 80s, 90s and 00s. Now they release junk relying on their brand name without having strict quality standards and controls. I bought B&O Beoplay EQ, MTW3, and XM5s. B&O and Sennheiser were on another level. I ended keeping the MTW3 because I really like the tuning of Sennheiser.

I had two pairs of momentum 2s that did that. The right one just stopped working. Thought the first one was on me because I did drop it a few times, but took extra care of the second pair, and it still went out. Ended up going with the sonys for my new pair to hopefully avoid that and to try them out.

I have been down the rabbit hole now for the last 3 days researching on buds. I was at my lpcal hifishop to test some like the denon perl pro, b&w whatever and jabra elite 10s... none of which blew me away. Nit until i testen some cheap sennheisers around the 150$ mark i was so surprised how they blew the 300+ bs earbuds out the water so it got me thinking. Now i was between these two, the xm5 and SM3 and man i got to say this. Im a white guy from sweden and out of all the reviews i have watched, and thats alot, only you and another brother have given so good reviews that i feel i can trust. What u say make sense. When it comes to music i know i can trust my black brothers🫱🏻‍🫲🏿❤️ thanks for the dedication. But ofcourse sound is subjective😅
