Gauntlet vs Puppet…is the gauntlet worth it?

You missed out on a lot of splash/multi target damage in your testing. Scatter shots,bomb towers,multi target inferno’s,poison towers,town hall etc. In my experience (testing level 15 puppet + level 15 gauntlet) they did perform similar at times but sometimes the barbarians would just get instantly vaporised depending on which splash defences are around,whereas with the gauntlet it basically performed consistently in pretty much every scenario. So that is what I think you gain from the gauntlet,it’s a consistently good performance.

Good points. It is also hard to show the value of a few thousand more hit points that come with the puppet EVERY attack. There is no variability there, and the vampstache helps keep him topped off, but it is really like comparing two different fruits. All 10 combinations have pros/cons, and the main point is that they are shockingly close in results.

My main issue with puppets is that they often don't last long inside the base, but are VERY good at quickly clearing trash OUTSIDE the base. Whereas gauntlet sucks outside the base but is great for clearing entire compartments

I have switched to vampstache and spiky ball in almost every army comp. The vampstache is so strong and it just doesn’t go well with the gauntlet.

Cool findings! I criticized your stance on the podcast but this clarifies things a little more. Other situations I would've tested was when there are buildings behind a wall, or other buildings like Scattershots or Rage Towers. I also just never see the benefit of a king that basically has golem speed, for me he always falls behind just chasing buildings that get destroyed before he gets there. The major upside, splash damage, gets negated as soon as you hit th11 bc everybody and their mother spaces their buildings to avoid edrags

the fact that u think this testing on a open corner of a base is a real test is insane, lol king punching through walls and taking down defenses… i could go on many scenarios that where not shown

Agree that there are thousands of scenarios to show. TH levels, army comps, other hero equipment, base layouts, enemy cc troops, trap locations. The first video I made was 12,396 hours long and it would not upload, so I trimmed it to 20 minutes (that was a month ago). This one is just trying to encourage people to consider that they have other options.

I don’t doubt that at all. There are times when you get a skeleton to pull the king back close enough to a building to get splash value, or the rage splash being an absolute menace to a TH compartment.

I think so. The vampstache keeps him alive SO long and is better for damage output overall.

Gauntlet is clearly better at higher townhalls at least with infinite splash damage and traps, closely placed buildings. Healer puppet v the upcoming frozen arrow would be a better comparison provided you are not queen charging.

This video should be released after the BK gauntlet bug is fixed assuming lunar new year update, until then rage gauntlets warden will be exclusively used for BK

This one actually takes a lot of the warden bug out of the mix. There are thousands of iterations of entry, traps, walls, heroes, etc that it is hard to do justice to the variability of it all.

There is no comparison between giant gaunlet and barbarian puppet because there is a glitch. If you press wardens ability and barbarian king is inside without ability then you have second warden s immunity the time you press barbarian s king ability with giant gaunlet. So you have two immunization for king

Thanks for this analysis, Trample. Question: will the Vampstache and Barb Puppet be an effective combo for smash attacks where the king is going up the gut and into the core of base? For my root/valk ground attack I'm using Gauntlet and Rage vial, but if I switch to Vampstache and Puppets will it be less effective inside the base?

The root riders tend to lead the charge, which often means that bombs are cleared out of the compartments, and the puppet can still provide a lot of barbarian value in addition to the higher ceiling on hit points that it provides. Additionally, the roots often go down having wiped out a ton of defenses, and the vampstache (couple with the higher ceiling of hit points from the puppet) will allow him to tank multiple defenses while pounding through a wall.

so #1, u didnt put almost any high dps defenses (scatter, inferno, multi cannon, monolith, TH, etc...) (you do have xbow so ill give you that) but you also put the defenses far apart so the gauntlet's ability wasn't used to full capacity. Most times you can hit multiple things in a single compartment. also going back to high dps defenses... scatter just destroys barbs, multi inferno exsts, multi cannon, TH... this is just specific examples of defenses but are incredibly common at higher THs as a content creator you gotta do a better job of showing the abilities at the strongest, weakest, how they interact with others and more. - this yap sesh has been sponsored by Papa Johns

I have. Multiple times, at multiple TH levels, with multiple armies, with all 10 combinations. What happens: the results are all shockingly similar. Then, people complain that I did not show a specific instance where a specific piece of equipment shines.
