its sinhala language , based on sanskrit and pali oriental Languages . Sinhala language belongs to aryan language family, sinhala alphebet based on brahmi akshara mala , sinhalese are aryans and suryawanshi peolpes . Their ancestors are came from bharukaccha ( modern bharuch - Gujarat ) , Supparaka ( modern sopar- maharashtra )ports of ancient india. some are came from vanga desha ( modern bengal ).Srilanka used to Call in ancient times as Sinhala dveepa , sinhala desha and ceylon due to dominant Sinhala culture . Srilanka is a sanskrit name came from mahabharata later.

Thats not hindi bro, Thats sinhalese language ..Sinhalese and hindi both languages influenced by Sankrit .so u can find over 1000 similar words between two languages .Bhakthi, pooja words generally use Buddhism and as well as Hinduism too..Srilankan Sinhalese also belongs to Aryans

@@amlans5314Correct. Elu Prakrit is not related to Maharashtra prakrit, Sinhala and Dhivehi come directly from late Vedic Sanskrit, not from any of the 3 big Prakrits. The similarities of Elu Prakrit and Maharashtra Prakrit are due to both of these prakrits having extended contact with Dravidian languages. Therefore the similarities are coincidence.

doh B Nope, Sri Lankan national anthem was not written by Ravindranath Thagore. It was written by great Sri Lankan musician Ananda Samarakoon in 1946 or so!

Amit Sharma yes, that's in Sinhalese. Because Sinhala was a subgroup of languages from Sanskrit (indo-aryan). But South Indian languages, they have their own roots (dravidian) not only Sanskrit.
