great thumbs up for this video, a lot of the lecturers just never explain things from the fundamental, which confused me so much, like you know how all the calculations work but never understand the concepts. Now I understand everything by watching this video.

Thanks for the video. It’s still not clear how both types of power can exist at one circuit. If I take an industrial machine, what should I do to calculate and prepare an infrastructure for that machine?
@michaelbee82632 жыл бұрын
It’s not a practical video. Active and reactive power exists on the one circuit because there’s periods where voltage and current overlap and periods where they don’t.

Please. Give information about reactive power in negative value. What it does mean? Thanks again
@josecarlosferreira49422 жыл бұрын
In general, power (active or reactive) in a negative value means that the element is generating power. On the other hand, a positive value means the element is absorbing power. For example, at 2:43, the load is absorbing reactive power when the product V.I is positive (positive value of reactive power) and is generating power when V.I is negative. The inductors can induce a voltage, so they can induce a current in a closed circuit and consequently generate power, the same thing occurs with capacitors which can discharge current in the circuit generating power. The resistor is a passive element, so it can' generate current, in other words, it can only absorb power and not generate it.

Great channel! Is it possible to convert reactive power (kvarh) to active power (kwh)? If so, what formula is used? I'm trying to convert 02634 kvarh and 02050 kvarh into kwh. Thanks in advance!
@farjadbaig1635 Жыл бұрын
Your goal is to get voltage and current in phase. Since industry mostly has inductive load, we put capacitor banks to force it in phase.

How do reactive power help generate magnetic flux at the transformer primary coil? If the power factor is at unity at the income side of the trafo, will the trafo still function?
@musangobi20794 жыл бұрын
Circuit with pure resistive load only it means active power is going to be dissipated. Now can transformer which is the source produces reactive power in the circuit if so it of what %?
