Hi, thanks for the excellent videos. My understanding of the 'trapped' charges in the lines (after the breakers have been opened) is due to the line inductance and capacitance. Normally the line is mostly inductive so the energy is stored in the inductive element (E = ½ * L * I²) and when the load is disconnected the energy becomes stored in line capacitance (E = ½ × C × V²), hence needs to be discharged via earthing switches. Is this correct? Could you please make a video about these trapped charges and the effects they have on arcing? Many thanks!

In EHV transmission line circuits TRV oscillations are typically few khz. That makes TRV last like 1000 microsec.
