Yesterday UPSC has conducted Civil Services Prelims Exam or first stage of IAS exam & most of the candidates who have appeared this year, must have calculated their approximate marks on the basis of upsc prelims 2021 answer key provided by various platforms.
In this session detailed analysis of upsc prelims question paper of general studies has been done & it has been assessed whether the paper was easy or moderate or difficult. Further some discussion has also been done regarding expected cut-off & further preparation strategy for UPSC CSE mains exam.
Paper-2 i.e CSAT is just a qualifying paper hence the same has not been assessed in this session.

Usually the IFoS exam is the same entry level exam. UPSC is making paper for them as well. Agriculture, ecology, environment and climate change are common topics beside being extremely important for FUTURE policies. Food security directly makes agriculture very important and we know Ecological environmental topics are very important what we are experiencing and science has become important after pandemic.

I talked to alot of serious aspirants ,Their conclusion -Paper 1 was manageable but Csat was tough .Basics should be clear,Ncerts Important .Pyq Important. Paper 1 was not that Thoughest But it was unpredictable or different from the Last pyqs analysis .

every year around 6 lakh aspirants sit from upsc cse exams ..10-12 thousand gets selected in prelims , 3000 make it through mains and get interview call ,800 candidates gets name in list -- about 80 people get IAS , 80 get IPS .... 40 IAS + 40 IPS ARE those who get deputation around their home cadre ......so overall only 80 people get what they want from the pool of 6 lakh people .........just putting these numbers to show real picture , that if you are doing hard work u want to get the best otherwise what's the point of all the struggle

Don't devote much more time for NCERTs. Just go through any monthly compilation and give a mock tests before pre and mains. You'll get idea about contents related to pre and mains perspective.

Sir I am really confused about NCERT books. There are revised edition books which are easily accessible at ncert website and even at book stores. But there's also some photostat material of ncert books of early 2000's edition. And huge problem resides with geography and economics. If we talk about Fundamentals of Physical Geography the earlier one has 4 major units as hydrosphere lithosphere atmosphere and biosphere. But the latest one has some different units along with different chapters. Also in macroeconomics there is lot of confusion regarding what will be beneficial to continue with. If you can address this from ground in any one of your upcoming sessions? Sir also for major refrence books if you can help me out with this also. Please.

According to me, I was not very serious in studies and I regret it, but I feel paper 1 was quite manageable. Currently have around 45 right and around 35 incorrect. So yeah I m out If I have had been a tad more serious and had revised my notes only, I would have cent percent surely cleared. I think CSAT will be a big spoilsport for many as English was tricky this time. People neglect CSAT like anything and UPSC is increasing it's level day by day. Moral is Concept is the king in UPSC. @@ambarishbhardwaj4874 nahi . I m not that optimistic. Cutoff would zyada se zyada be 95 usse kam nahi Agar hota bhi h toh( of 6-7 answers go in my favour) bhi I m not prepared for mains, so anyhow I m doomed I m missing it on 6-7 questions and huge negative. Anyway best of luck for you :)

Bro I cleared 2020 but failed CSAT. I have solved all previous year papers in test format without knowing anything about them in advance. If you are writing next year - learn guesswork. The exam is literally guess work oriented now. Don’t rely on static old age advise and books.

@@janardanrana6340 option elimination, extreme word elimination, logical corollary etc etc. you read all the books you can’t get more than 25-30 questions straight. These static books have been made redundant by UPSC. It’s a gamble. In roulette you have better chance at wining than at prelims.
