Gaustatoppen Norway - Couloirs & cruising
Gaustatoppen in Telemar is the highest mountain of southern Norway with it´s 1 883 meters above sea level. There is not a single lift on the mountain, but inside the mountain is a tramway built in the 1950:s by NATO during the Cold War.
We were there in March 2018 and tested both the around 40 degrees steep couloirs of the front and back. In addition, we cruised the easy way down on the front of the mountain close too the marked the descent, on the beautiful big and white expanses. 650 vertical meters with one of the best offpiste terrains in the Nordic region in clear weather and good snow.
