The dr. Has been trying different creams for 10 mths now. I have been on this iodosorb gell before w no changes in this foot ulcer. We have tried everything, yet the dr has put orders for the home care nurse to start using iodosorb again! Im not exactly happy, I hope Im wrong, why Im writing for someone yo tell me this stuff does work, cause it didnt work last time. Please reply, Im. Scared! Please Help, if this isnt good for a foot Ulcer(pressure) what is. Thank you. Jamie H

Sorry I'm late. The pressure wound on the bottom of my heel is responding really well to use of a hydrocolloid dressing (in my case from CVS) left on for three to four days per directions, then changed. Once healed, I will be have to resort to some sort of gel shoe insole or something else to prevent recurrence of the same thing. The edema on the left calf/foot apparently is what made the foot vulnerable to the foot ulcer in the first place.

There are no eligibility requirements to take our course. To sit for the certification exam, you will need to show three years of clinical experience. The ABWM defines three years of clinical experience as follows: "Three years of wound care experience can be acquired over the course of your career. It does not necessarily have to be a consecutive three years. Wound care does not have to be your primary responsibility during that time, as long as you can demonstrate you have had roles related to wound care throughout your career.” If you do not have the required clinical experience at this time, please contact us so that we can provide you with alternative options.
