Gavin Creel and Andrew Rannells "Where You Are" - Broadway Backwards 2019

At Broadway Backwards 2019, the Tony-winning Gavin Creel (Waitress, Hello, Dolly!) and two-time Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Boys in the Band, TV’s Girls and Black Monday) invited the audience to join in the celebration and “come play with [them]” in a playful rendition of “Where You Are” from Kiss of the Spider Woman. They were joined by the Broadway Backwards ensemble in effervescent choreography created by Paul McGill, which paid homage to some of the most iconic dances in Broadway history.

A bevy of Broadway’s brightest stars joined a sold-out audience on March 11, 2019, to celebrate and motivate the LGBTQ community and its allies through gender-reversed renditions of beloved show tunes, spectacular choreography and a record-breaking fundraising total at Broadway Backwards.
The 14th annual edition of the show raised $704,491 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. The previous fundraising record was set last year at $680,273.
Broadway Backwards (#BroadwayBackwards), which was produced by Broadway Cares at the New Amsterdam Theatre, featured a cast of 130 performers and a live, 12-piece orchestra.
Broadway Backwards creator Robert Bartley wrote and directed this year’s show. Mary-Mitchell Campbell served as music supervisor; Ted Arthur and Christopher D. Littlefield were music directors. The evening's choreographers were Robert Bartley, Karla Puno Garcia, Paul McGill, Mimi Quillin, Stephen Reed and Robbie Roby. The creative team included lighting designer Timothy Reed, costume designers Johnna Fettinger, Jess Gersz and Natalie Loveland, prop designers Jenna Snyder and Alexander Wylie and sound designers Kurt Fischer and Marie Renee Foucher. The production stage manager was Jeff Brancato.

i dont know much dancing so these might not be specific to the musical but the references i got in that section were: 3:35 the jump from newsies and maybe more idk?? 3:43 the dancers in the middle doing the thing from the jellicle ball in cats, while the ones behind doing the bottle dance from fiddler? 3:45 gavin and andrew doing the hot honey rag from chicago 3:49 the rich mans frug from sweet charity 3:50 idk what the group in the middke are doing (is it turkey lurkey??) but the left one is jazz hands from pippin or maybe just fosse (also a lot of the beginning with the dancers seems to evoke fosse plus the outfits) 3:53 anything goes? it could be other things 3:55 as the other person said book of mormon and the group on the left do that west side story move 3:58 the bit from cool from wss and then the chorus line bit which is one reprise from acl i think?
