The cricket reference Gavin is mentioning is basically saying that when you wave your hand to do a Jedi mind trick, it reminds him of when an umpire waves his hand to indicate a 4 run for others on the field, batsman or the cameras to understand. Not a joke or anything. The wave is like sign language, it's universal so if English is not your first language you know what the wave means.
