Just saw a comment by: Erich Dilbeck? Young man..., you obviously don't know your history. Take it from a person who was present with this band in the early days.... THEY ARE DEFINITELY THE REAL DEAL! You may not appreciate Rogers' singing yet it helped to shape so many bands' interpretations of "hard music". I am not a fan of Rogers' singing style in the "pure sense", yet I know where he comes from and that is doing his part to forge the foundation of New York Hardcore music - which I will ALWAYS have respect for. My last memory of Roger is with him and Vinnie in a hotel room after a GOLDENVOICE gig (Gary Tovar era), partying and hanging out with a young puppy who was rather exuberant (it was a pit bull). I asked them, "what is up with your dog?" They just laughed! Great guys. I don't care what you think or say..., AGNOSTIC FRONT are great people..., judging from my experience.

Hardcore Punk was before Thrash Metal. Early Thrash bands took many from Hardcore, from american and british HC.Of course in the mid of '80 Hardcore Punx took influences from Metal and Thrash Metal and they created Crossover Thrash-one of first was Agnostic Front "Cause Of Alarm" (first MetalCore), Grunge, Crust Punk, GrindCore, in 90's New School, Screamo, MathCore. In 90's Metalheads again turn in to Hardcore: Groove Metal, Alternative Metal, Nu Metal.Hc and T. M. are close but HC was earlier

it makes me sad that i see really great videos such as this one of a really good hardcore band and everyone is fighting over where this genre of music came from. the only reason a band is "hardcore" is because the message is talking about kids like all of us that aren't normal, kids that aren't accepted. the entire message is to watch out for each other and coming together, not disagree with every comment made by each other, when we do that we forget who the enemy is....negativity!

And sure there are lots of hardcore bands from the 70s: Have you ever heard of Black Flag (1976), Bad Brains (1977), 7 Seconds (1979), Circle Jerks (1979), Dead Kennedys (1978), D.O.A. (1978) and so on?

Thrash Metal is a mix of Classic Metal, Hardcore and Punk Rock. So if it wasn't for Punk Rock and Hardcore, there'd have been no Thrash Metal. Hardcore bands being influenced by thrash metal bands is only logical. But that's not something narrow-minded people can understand. Or appreciate

@H Scott, in 80's I was mostly into Hardcore and punk, also Jazz Fusion, and Rap and R&B. I was never into metal except when I was a little kid I liked Kiss. Hardcore and punk for the revolutionary message, and same for rap. Jazz fusion just for the skill and listenability.
@Chrisdougable8 жыл бұрын
Seems odd at first, but the Bad Brains started as a jazz fusion band, lol. I really like Weather Report, Eric Johnson, Shawn Lane, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, of course Return to Forever, also Frank Zappa, although he is hard to categorize. I pretty much like anything independent, as mainstream music is just not interesting to me. I love Jaco Pastorius by himself, too. My favorite band is Reagan Youth, I also like The Cro Mags, Youth of Today, M.D.C., Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, Crass, GBH, and Bad Religion.
