Good reviews on the G & H blends. I have yet to try them but I never stick to one blend so they'll come around eventually. The feature I liked best on those fish finders when I had a boat, was the ability to mark fishing spots. The data on those things becomes a family heirloom after years of fishing. 🙂

Good morning and Happy Saturday my friend. I'm smoking some salty dogs in a mark twain. I ordered dark flake aromatic last fall and it's developed some sugar crystals. I was surprised it happened that soon. Picking up fish on down imaging is a little tricky. Practice with a regular sonar return side by side with the down imaging so you can pick out what the fish look like on the down image. Fish are more noticeable on side image. I like to find cribs and structure, move the cursor over and set a waypoint. Dunhill looks like he belongs on that pontoon. Have a great weekend.

@@beans316 They do make it look easy and there are always so many variables. Just like when they used to show those beautiful perfect arches and I'm getting flat lines. I think the more you play with it the more you'll start to pick up. It takes time and practice.

Hello, my friend! Always a treat when Saturday morning comes around. Many years ago, Saturday mornings meant Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers on NPR, but they're long gone, and Clack died almost a decade ago. So, it's up to you now, pal! That stubby cob you're smoking...where did it come from? I'd really like to have one. As for the Dark Flake Aromatic, it wouldn't be the perfume that would keep me from it, but the nicotine. I'm trying to get some Brown Flake Aromatic, but at Smokingpipes at least, it's never in stock. When I did smoke it last, I don't recall much perfume at all. Maybe you can get immune to it. Just got a tin of Peterson's Hyde Park this morning. It's super to have some Lakeland sauce on it, along with rum and maple. I'll let you know!

The last batch I got was very lightly scented, almost non existent after first half. The topping to me is identical to the brown flake aromatic, just less intense. I love them both anyway. Enjoy your smokes!

You know you may be right the smell in the jar was terrible almost brutal but definitely didn’t taste much more floral than the unscented maybe there not adding as much but for now I’m really liking it

I personally smoke all new and aromatic tobaccos in either a meerschaum or corncob pipe. I find one experiences the most of the tobacco flavors when smoking mers or cobs. I then transition to my briar pipes. Keep up the great work.

That fish finder is awesome! I remember drooling over them in the Cabellas and Bass Pro catalogs back in the day before internet. I like this blend but don’t smoke it often. Take care.

This blend is another favorite of the two gents in my pipe club who love Exclusive and Dark Birds Eye. Its has a bit to much oomph for me. I prefer Brown Flake unscented and Ennerdale. By the way, the mentioned gents are fearful you are going to cause a run on Birds Eye!

Dark Flake Aro is one of my favourites. I dont know why, maybe my over active imagination, but old British lakelands are best in a clay. My personal opinion. Great video Beans.

Hey, Brian!!! That Ennerdale flake is no joke! Straight up perfume. But I do understand why people like it. The tin note is incredible, but for me, the smoke is just too much on the potpourri side. I'd love to try the dark flake. It sounds amazing! God bless you, brother! 🙏

Brian, the reason you couldn’t see any fish between the down & the side imaging, is because there were none… LOL! Recognizing the suspended shadows “aka fish” will require some time on the water to understand the unit and its imaging contrasts… Have fun exploring the unit, Humm. HELIX is one of the best DI/SI/GPS units on the market. A great addition to that awesome FUN-toon! Be well my friend :)
