No mention of The Rembrandt, Manchester’s original gay bar right in the centre of Canal Street where Manchester Pride started, where our regulars raised fun’s for those affected by HIV/AIDS in the 1980’s. Gay bar since pre decriminalisation in the 1960’s before any of the other bars arrived and one of two on Canal Street.

Just finished watching this video and theres so much energy in Manchester, and people so happy minding their own business. What wasn’t cool is how Holiday Inn hotel treated you and your friends. Understand it’s for safety reasons but EVERYTIME? it’s ridiculous…. I wouldn’t stay at their place again neither there or anywhere else.

C'est particulier ce traitement de la part de l'hôtel. C'était le fait de plusieurs membres du personnel ou seulement un cas isolé ? Daprès vous, quelle était leur motivation première d'agir de la sorte ?

This behaviour was applied towards me specially everyday I was there. In the report I wrote on the description, i mentioned a day that I came with my friend that was sharing the room with me and he said we could not go up because the person sharing the room with me was already upstairs. When he was next to me. I do believe there was more than just being unprofessional. But I hope the person learned from this attitude as nobody is perfect. I am also far from being perfect. But since this is an establishment where people pay to be at, I can’t just close my eyes to this specially during pride week. As i mentioned this hard behaviour was not applied to straight couples or people that were staying in the hotel.

The hotel worker does not seem very professional . Asking that many times about the room number is incompetent. Perhaps it was not because you were all gay. Maybe it was because there were several of you & the hotel wanted to be sure you were all guests to avoid a noisy party in the room. If it had been straight people in a group not just a couple they might have been asked too. I was not there so I do not know.I love your channel. Hope this makes you feel better. I think that you are very cute. : )

@yourgayguyde I had not read the description yet when I commented because I was busy. I have read it now. It looks like it was either a gay issue or they did not like you. Dreadful customer service. If you get staff members anywhere that want to be annoying it is really bad. I enjoy all your videos. You are a lot of fun to watch. I liked the little hat you wore in the street in Dublin.I was moved when you cried in the museum in Egypt. I live in Tasmania. Maybe someday you will visit Australia. I look forward to your further adventures. Obrigado!

@@yourgayguyde I stayed at this hotel (Oxford Road) over pride weekend in 2023 and had a gay guy check me in. I never experienced the same sort of discrimination you had experienced. As the hotel is in the gay district and Holiday Inn is a chain i assume they would be forced to do some inclusivity training. I would definitely leave a review and would suggest others in the group to do the same. It is totally unacceptable for you to be treated like that, they need to give a response as this hotel is going to continue to serve many of those visiting the gay village

@@dredits6658 I don’t think the hotel in general is homophobic as they are a big brand and for sure they would never tell their stuff to act like this because they make lots of money from us. And the other two brands are ok and one of them even called me and showed regret but the manager of the other brand said he sent the report to the manager of the brand I stayed (there are two holiday inn express and I made a review on Google on the other one by mistake), I am still waiting for any type of reply from that branch at Oxford street.
