This week, we’ve made big strides in our French farmhouse renovation, starting with the much-anticipated installation of our kitchen. After prepping the living room and treating the floors, it was finally time to bring our kitchen out of storage and get it set up. As always, it was more work than expected, but the results have exceeded our hopes. Of course, there were a few setbacks along the way, like missing a couple of pieces, but we kept pushing forward and fixed what needed to be fixed.
With the kitchen in place, Bram worked his magic connecting the waterlines, electricity, and plumbing-jobs that are definitely in good hands. Meanwhile, Baby Nox is growing beautifully, though when she doesn’t wake us in the morning, a fierce rainstorm does! The storm even caused some leaks, reminding us that renovation life is full of to-do’s.
After living without a front door for weeks, we decided it was finally time to install the new one, wrapping up a very productive and satisfying week. Renovation in the south of France is moving forward, though at a slower pace now that our baby girl demands more of our attention. Priorities have shifted, but being fathers is the most rewarding adventure we could have imagined.
Watch as we balance being new dads and tackling our renovation project, one challenge at a time.
