Awesome video recounting your experience! It is still very difficult for gay couples to adopt or have a family in many countries because a lot of cultural or legal issues that try to prevent it, but it shouldn't be like that. It's important for people to hear experiences like this.

Thank you! I always worry about what my kids would feel like if I end up marrying a woman. I also saw a video where a child of gay parents admitted that they resented them... thats terrifying. It can happen but I don’t think it is the majority. I’m glad you had a different experience bc that made me never want kids even if I really wanted them.
@erin.a.b4 жыл бұрын
oh my gosh im so sorry that you saw someone say that! that's not okay... I would encourage anyone to have children who wants them - regardless of who they're dating/married to, etc. LOVE IS LOVE!! I love having 2 moms!!

Hi Erin, I stumbled upon your video and found it very informative and encouraging. I found it while me and my same sex partner are thinking of having kid via ivf. Although we are Australian and have good social setup here for same sex families, our main hurdle is how a kid will feel once he will realize that his/her parents are lesbians. We are concerned about if our kid would face any discrimination or bullying because of us and what if he or she will also orientate towards same sex relationship because he or she would have seen us being one. Although we know that orientation has nothing to do with who were our parents but if the child would have same sex orientation, we are concerned that society will say that gay parents kids turn out gay too, which is not necessarily true. Please provide your perspective as gay parents child of whether you ever wished that you were not born to gay parents and if your sexual orientation was ever influenced because of your parents? Your response will guide us immensely because we don’t want to become a selfish parents to have kids just for our happiness. We want best for our kid and if that mean that our kid might hate us when they grow up, we might have to crush this dream of ours. Thank you a lot.

"There's no normal family'. Definition of the norm/normal: something that is usual, typical, or standard. Since most people are heterosexual, a man and a woman is the norm. Btw, you do have a dad, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Your mother just decided for you that you didn't need a dad. You might have his looks, his intellect, etc... But i understand children of gay couples, you don't want to offend them by looking for your biological other parent.

I do not have a dad. sperm does not equal dad. And every family is different. Thanks for watching ✌🏼
@johnmizzoi Жыл бұрын
@@erin.a.b Half of what you are (genes) came from a man and that's what we call a biological father. But i do understand your point of view in a life without a man.
