It was the summer of 1989, at the pleasant hill station, Kodaikanal, when a devotee couple prayed to Swami to perform their child's 'Upanayam'(Thread Ceremony). Swami graciously blessed them by personally performing the ceremony and revealed the secret of Gayatri Mantra to a blessed few devotees and students present then.

Please re-subtitle this entire conversation. The subtitles seem to be summarizing what Baba is saying. But what I -- and I'm sure many others -- would like to know is what is He exactly saying -- verbatim. That kind of subtitling needs to be added to his video. Can a brāhman man, who has not been *initiated*, do Gayatri mantra jap? Can a brāhman man, whose "Upanayana" has not been done, do Sandhyavandanam? Assume that this person is excellent in Sanskrit, and has studied many authentic books on Gayatri Sadhana, and he follows all the rules properly, and knows all the detailed steps of Sandhayvandana perfectly.
