I had to pause this video so I could get supplies and craft along! I love these sort of techniques where it feels like I'm getting my hands dirty. Instead of plastic wrap I'm using a cereal bag, and I'm out of modpodge so will use watered down PVA glue. Can't wait to see how it goes. Thank you for the tutorial!

Gayle…your using napkins and peeling off the white backing brought back a funny memory from back in the days of (that virus we don’t speak aloud). Everyone in the world was losing their mind and buying all the toilet paper! I decided it would be a good idea to pull off the white parts of my decorative napkins and save them in case we ran out of TP. The ziplock bag of them is still in my bathroom cabinet lol. (Just in case) I remember telling you about it and I think you had the same idea. 😂 I always did love solving problems haha. ❤Tammie PS I commented before you were done and you mentioned this 😂.

Good afternoon, Gayle! ❤ These covers are awesome! A few years ago, you made one of my favorite covers ever using this technique. It was a Christmas gnome looking in a window at a Christmas party. I hunted for that napkin everywhere. 😂 When I finally found it, I tried to make a version of yours that was ok for my first try. I can’t wait to see these all dry. I laughed at your cockroach story. Eew, they are awful creatures. I hope your shoulder feels better and your doctor can see you soon. Have a terrific Monday!

Good afternoon Gayle!❤ This are fun to make! Very sturdy covers. Made 3 or 4 after I saw you do them quite some time ago. In the ever humid south, took mine several days to dry. Turned out darker and shinier than I expected and still a bit ‘sticky’ even now. 😊 Maybe I’ll try PVA glue instead of matte mod podge next time and more white napkins than I used before. Experiment time! 😆 Have a great week! ❤

Yay! It’s okay to be wrinkly. Good thing, since my journals, tags and self are plenty wrinkly!!😂😅😊 I always wondered why you saved the white part of the napkins until I saw this process. Messy but fun. I think I started watching your videos when your arm was in a sling. I was fascinated at how much you could get done with one arm. Then I was hooked. Hi Gayle. I would love to try this but I don't have much for napkins...I need to dig and see if I can find enough of them to coordinate into a cohesive look. Does it have to be Mod Podge or will any white glue work? (I think it would but want your expert opinion 😊). Also, when it drys does it get that "sticky/tacky" feel Mod Podge is notorious for leaving behind? TFS. I hope you and Mike have a great day. 🌞

@@gayleagostinelli_ct thanks for the info. Another question: Would this work for making place mats or table runner?

Is it feasible to do a glitter edge via tulip type paint(think 90s n fabric painting w/applique)?? Those poppies are pretty n I see a glitter edge on a few .

Hi Gayle, I think this project (fabric paper)was one of the first videos of yours I watched-back in the day! I’ve wanted to try it since that first video. Could you please share the name of the Etsy shop you buy napkins from? I know I’ve heard you say it before but I don’t remember. Thanks so much!

I haven’t tried it, but it would be interesting to see what the weight and texture of the cover would be using different papers. 🤔❤

What ratio of water to mod podge do you use? It looked really thin but I’ve never watered it down before

Glad you feeling a lot better. Pace yourself. I think the new kit is wonderful but I don’t think I would be interested in a journal that size. I, like you, wouldn’t gravitate to that style but I think the price is great for the amount of product you receive and the classes. Take care.

I had my doctor cancel just within the hour of my appointment because his wife had gone into labor a week early. He had taken the month off starting the next week. So, I ended up going to his associate for the next 3 appointments of my pregnancy.
